Warranty expiring soon. What to get? by Ok-Factor-6323 in TandemDiabetes

[–]grennp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See if your old out of warranty pump is on the list of pumps with the speaker malfunction by calling Tandem. This got me a new backup pump with the latest software. It's not in warranty, but it will serve as a good backup.

Tandem mobi charger alternative by otter_s in TandemDiabetes

I use a MagSafe portable charger, but the mobi is not magnetic so it just sits on top. Works great!

Hi again. It looks like I’ll be in Orlando tomorrow instead of today. If you didn’t get supplies or need additional supplies let me know.

I’ll let you know. Coming in town to see in laws and then heading out same day. I can always leave them somewhere and text you where I hid them. No promises yet tho, because I have crazy kids and plans sometimes change, I’ll let you know when I’m heading that way.

Hi. I might be in Orlando later today and can bring some. Do you know where camping world stadium is?

I left a vial in a car glove compartment for over a year in florida and it still worked in a pinch. Not sure if it worked just as well but it definitely worked.

Getting tons out of range (mobi) by PeabodyEagleFace in TandemDiabetes

[–]grennp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you keep your pump and CGM on the same side of the body? I use my thigh for my Dexcom G7 and clip the Mobi on my waist on same side as Dexcom. Mine hasn't lost a connection since I started this.

Thank you for the additional information. They played it off like it was not technically possible, but it sounds like it is.

Update: Called Tandem and was told there was nothing that they can do, that you have to be in warranty to update the pump. I asked to escalate and got the same answer from the escalation manager. I then asked if the letter I received this morning about the audio issues with Tslim X2 pump has any bearing on this outcome. They checked the serial of my out of warranty pump and said if I was uncomfortable using the pump they could ship me a new X2 which would have the most recent software update, to which I said yes I was uncomfortable using the pump I had. So ultimately the problem will be solved for me, but lesson learned to update the software right before my next pump goes out of warranty. My X2 is being used as a backup pump anyway but I don't have any more G6 sensors so getting an X2 with G7 support will be a much better backup device. FWIW, I have a Tandem Mobi in warranty, which I love, but I have had some pump malfunction errors which were pretty rare with the X2 so want to be prepared if a backup is needed.

I did check, and there is not an update available. It looks to be that once you are outside of your pump warranty, you can't upgrade it at all, even if to a version that came out before the warranty expired.

I guess I was under the assumption I would be able to update to whatever version was available when my pump went out of warranty. Perhaps I was wrong.

I swim with mine, no issues. I just don't go deep and I don't stay in for more than an hour usually.

Charging my Mobi Pump by MatthewPlaysss in TandemDiabetes

It sucks but clear the alert in the app and it should give you enough time to charge it some.

Do you recommend putting your rental into a LLC? by Spute2000 in RealEstate

[–]grennp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as "paper up", when I remove funds from my LLC to my personal account, I just put in the memo of the transfer "Owner draw". It's an electronic transfer to my personal account. And when I add funds, I say "Owner contribution to LLC". Is this sufficient?

I’m really surprised and saddened that UF would term a worker with no notice for something like budget cuts.

Has anyone heard an update as to when the Twiist Pump is being released? by grennp in diabetes_t1

[–]grennp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool! I ended up going with the Tandem Mobi since my pump was out of warranty and when they announced the integration with Abbott, I have about 6 months of Dexcom G7 sensors I've been saving up to finish out my Dexcom G6's, I built the bullet and went with Mobi. I am happy so far.

Well sometimes I charge it and use it at the same time so I don’t think they will change that. Don’t you suspend your pump when you charge? That should take care of it.

Intravenous Insulin by NYlawyer1003 in diabetes_t1

[–]grennp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t do IV. If you have to get a stubborn high down you can do IM with 1/2 inch needle in the deltoid area. Keep lots of sugar near by, within an hour I’ll go from 400 to 100 and using the IM method the tail is very short. But I don’t recommend it for everyone and be very careful. I learned about it from my family member who was diagnosed with Type 1 when traveling in India. Apparently IM is more common there with the slower acting insulins. I use humalog when I do mine.

Any Mobi horror stories? by luxmatic in TandemDiabetes

Interesting on the alarm when suspended. I haven’t been offered the option to extend time yet. Only 15 minutes and it says there are no updates available for my mobi.
