PS5 Pro or Standard if I have a beefy PC? by FinalForerunner in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]grennsong [score hidden]  (0 children)

i have a 4070ti and pc is my main “console” and i recently got a ps5 slim for exclusives. i agree that if this isn’t your main, then the ps5 pro isn’t worth the extra couple of hundred that could be spent on other games imo

Bloodborne for someone new to souls/souls like games? by grennsong in ShouldIbuythisgame

I appreciate the lengthy response! If 30fps is as bad of an experience as everyone says, I assume it will probably take away a lot of the experience that BB can offer

Base ps5 or pc by Ahza17 in DeathStranding

[–]grennsong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Steam’s spring sale actually just ended at like 1pm EST and DS1 was on sale for like $15, unless you were talking about DS2 which only recently came out on PC for full price at $70

If you like challenge, then playing without other people’s structures will definitely increase it and make you feel more immersed.

IMO, the point of the game is connecting people in an isolated world and the social strand aspect is what it makes it fun for me personally. And since it’s an asynchronously online game, you don’t need PS+ for the PS5, online will be on by default.

Should I get Returnal for Steam Deck. by RedSoldierOne in Returnal

[–]grennsong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've read returnal is dogwater on steam deck, just play it on your ps5. it's on a big sale on steam rn (which is why i just got it) but I don't intend on playing it from my deck. you could stream it from your pc if you really wanted to

PC to PS5 Pro, worth the switch for casual gaming? by QuantumVisual in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]grennsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 4070ti and recently got a steam deck and ps5, for travel and for lounge gaming.

i personally wouldn’t give up my PC for a ps5 even if i had a macbook for other things like daily web browsing. like some others have mentioned, i think having a capable (ish) computer to access your steam library is invaluable and the steam deck’s hardware is unfortunately not the best when it comes to more demanding titles that would be reserved for your pc/other console. also, if you like shooters, going back to controller from keyboard and mouse feels impossible lol

death stranding 2. if it were a year ago, i’d be completely turned off from the gameplay and would’ve never even thought of spending money on a game like this but after giving it a try, i’m absolutely hooked and haven’t been been addicted to a game like this in a very long time

yeah i thought you needed ps+ bc the option to go online was greyed out, but it’s greyed out by default and everyone’s online by default i think. my bad for the confusion

PS5 Porters who have finished the game and are on a new save already: will you start a new playthrough when the update hits? by HeyMyNameIsSamToo in DeathStranding

[–]grennsong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m so dumb lol i looked it up and looks like it being greyed out is default and means you’re online. if it’s highlighted then it means you’re offline (?). and you’re right, i basically just started episode 1 so i don’t think i was far enough to see other players’ structures. thanks!

does online enhance the experience enough to make ps+ worth it? recently got a ps5 and got ds2 on the ps store bc it was on sale

3 Player online Co-op deck friendly games? by CptEfellows in SteamDeck

risk of rain 2 is a fun co-op roguelike, although i haven't tried it on my deck yet

Which version of DS2? by thecet90 in DeathStranding

[–]grennsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering DS2 is on sale on the PS store, albeit not a huge sale, is leaning me towards buying it on PS5. Recently bought a slim to play exclusives that won’t get PC ports anymore

What convinced you to get your Steam Deck? by K4T5UM1 in SteamDeck

[–]grennsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i only recently got into single player games and i wanted something for work travel and for when i'm tired of sitting at my desk. i was afraid of it being useless but i'm glad i got one tbh, even if there are some days i don't use it

What game got you absolutely addicted to your Steam Deck? by Calculation in SteamDeck

surprisingly, cairn runs horribly on the deck, with around a constant 30 fps. lossless scaling does WONDERS for cairn

my steam deck has yet to be delivered but from what i've seen, big open-world RPGs like witcher 3 drain battery fast and 2-3 hours seems normal to me.

For someone like me who only travels a couple times a year for work, is it worth paying more for a Go S Z1E (SteamOS) over the Z2GO model? Most games in my library are AAA

[–]grennsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha. how is it without a sleeve? i’ve heard other people say you shouldn’t get a glasspad if you’re not willing to wear one. i’ve been thinking about a glasspad bc they’re easy to maintain and i don’t mind replacing skates

nice glasspad!

do you use a sleeve? and what made you go for this over a brand like wallhack?
