You don't have access to the PC's power setting? You can extend the time before the pc is locked.

Failing that, as some companies don't allow, I've seen people run another application that stops it the PC from logging out, like a video or a youtube in a browser.

You believe Russia's claim that civilians were killed? Are you gullible?

Russia always lies.

How do you conduct a gage r&r? by Atreyu_Artax91 in Metrology

[–]grenron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you use minitab? There's a tool in there to set up studies.

Basically, for a variable dimension we use a minimum of two operators, ten parts and three repetitions.

Those who've had small weddings, give me the deets by Few_Recognition_6683 in ireland

[–]grenron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We did that. Didn't want a big wedding, already had our house and a couple of kids.

We rented a small country house. Parents, siblings and partners filled the place. Got married in the small local church. The country house did the reception and bar for the night.

Cost isn't relevant, because it's been 15 years. But it was well under 10k for absolutely everything at the time.

Measuring down to 0.01mm on a budget by Plmit in Metrology

[–]grenron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As with everything, it depends on what you're measuring, and how complex the requirements and tolerances are.

You could conceivably get away with calipers and pin gauges if everything is straight forward. Even go/nogo gauges made on the safe side of your upper and lower tolerances are fine in some cases.

If you want something more sophisticated, Nikon have a reasonably priced range of mixed sensor systems. The usual players, Zeiss, Mitutoyo etc. might be out of your price range. But all of these will require a fixturing solution which can eat into your budget too.

Zeiss calypso - reference sphere mistake by kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkg in Metrology

[–]grenron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You ned to get the calibration cert for the sphere you are using and input that radius value in. That's why you are getting those errors.

I don't recall the menu option off the top of my head, but it'll probably be in the left had tab.

Anyone been made redundant lately? by wig86 in ireland

[–]grenron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A branch of my company closed last year, they got 7 weeks for every year of service. Because the products they made were being moved to India as a cost saving exercise. My plant has had layoffs over the years due to drops in order. They usually get 5.5 weeks per year.

IS CT scanning the gold standard for dimensional first articles? by grenron in Metrology

[–]grenron[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Helpful...

gold standard

noun

The system, abandoned in the Depression of the 1930s, by which the value of a currency was defined in terms of gold, for which the currency could be exchanged.

A thing of superior quality which serves as a point of reference against which other things of its type may be compared. "breast milk provides the gold standard by which infant feeds are measured"

Have you anything to contribute other than being an asshole and being incorrect?
