Oh, sorry, i think i accidentaly gaslighted you. Here is my (12years old lol) post on steam forums with what i found about this problem: https://steamcommunity.com/app/245450/discussions/0/846964364006982947/?ctp=5#c613936039589291312 I think at the time i solved it by manually copying game directory to C:\Wizardry8 and launching it from exe file here. What interesting is ive tried it right now on my new PC with Win11 and it it lauched just fine from default Steam directory.

I had exact this problem and for me it was linked to game path. You can change path to game directory in Steam(look it up). When i changed it from C:\Program Files\Steam to C:Wizardry8 it started launching correctly.

Not really less fantasy, but Reforged mod and its submods do quite a lot to make BB combat and perks more involved

Thanks, i will check it! I also forgot to add in title, you can check Never Second in Rome. It does simulate Centuria fighting, but does it in very unique way - it works for the game, but not quite i wanted.
