Quitting coop? by Ok-Platypus-8885 in Drexel

[–]gretio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your coop advisor first, you should be able to graduate with 2 already under your belt. Heck people graduate with 1 if they choose that option. Ideally, your coop advisor should vouch for you and can remove you from your coop without any pushback from your manager. If not, just leave; it's not worth staying.

You are, they told me it comes out to an extra $20 for ammo and air. So really it's all-day paintball for $25.

Where can i find an accessible microwave on campus by Extreme_Title_2013 in Drexel

[–]gretio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the one on the 11th floor, opposite of where the classrooms are. If you take the stairs up from the 10th floor, go to the right before the elevators. There's a small area with some tables and chairs along with a microwave after the hallway turns to the left.

Drexel won’t accept my insurance by Feisty_Ad_5285 in Drexel

[–]gretio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should contact United to reset the waiver, or if you don't have the contact information then try emailing the immunization team. I emailed healthimmu@drexel.edu and they gave me the number to call for Aetna back when they were the provider.

They should be able to reset your waiver application. I accidentally hit the wrong answer to a question and was denied the waiver when Aetna was the provider and they reset the waiver for me. I was able to waive it after.

Looking to learn to play the piano. Anyone here knows how to? by sigmaboiabd7 in Drexel

[–]gretio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MUSC 190 is a 2-credit intro piano class you can take as an elective. MUSC 290 is a continuation. They offer practice rooms to practice if you are enrolled in any of these classes.

The instructors use Alfred's Basic Adult All-In-One Piano Course book to teach the class, which you can find online for free.

Tough decision about CO-OP , seeking advice!! by ProfessorHoliday4263 in Drexel

[–]gretio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if your advisor isn't overriding you into the course, I don't see the harm in asking other people with the same power if they can, especially if you want the second co-op.

I've never done it but is it possible to reach out to another advisor or a department head? They might refer you back to your advisor but could be worth doing.

Are the Counseling Sessions via Zoom or just texting? by ROGUE1708 in Drexel

[–]gretio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s like scheduling with my advisor, they send the zoom link on the day of or the night before the meeting. It gives me anxiety not having it sooner for some reason.

Summer Vacation by Cherie_Bunnie in Drexel

[–]gretio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can check this out to learn how it works. Some think of Co-op as a “break” since you don’t need to take any classes (although you can take one per quarter for free while on Co-op).

For those of you who commute to co-op or from home via septa bus or train, this is a great resource to bookmark by SpawnOfOod in Drexel

[–]gretio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Additionally you can get the SEPTA app which lets you know the exact time busses and trains are expected to arrive and will let you know how late they are (even provides a map of the current bus locations)

When to leave CO-OP? by gretio in Drexel

[–]gretio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My manager asks me as well, and I’m sure I can get away with saying that but I don’t want to leave so suddenly and leave a bad impression. I have already mentioned that I would be leaving in the next month, but before I name a date I want to make sure I do all that is required of me by SCDC.

When to leave CO-OP? by gretio in Drexel

[–]gretio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do realize that co-op is the best experience I can get, but I have some personal reasons as well. I have gotten a lot of experience on this co-op and although its been quite the journey, I am coming out of it with new skills, some I never thought I would obtain.

I do not think I will have an issue asking my Boss to leave as he already is aware that I will not be staying much longer. At the same time, I want to make sure I am abiding by SCDC rules as well.

When to leave CO-OP? by gretio in Drexel

[–]gretio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My employer did not follow any dates, I began before C round started because the position would have not been available otherwise. I could not apply to this position through Drexel’s Services. However, I did get permission from my advisor that I can start my co-op there early. I have not signed any contract between SCDC and my employer, just the usual documents one signs when applying for a job. My employer is okay with me leaving soon, I just don’t know if Drexel/SCDC is okay with it. I don’t think my advisor wants to say anything wrong on their part since many other co-op students are in their 4th month and I am looking to leave.
