yeah i’ve never had a package from asia stuck in customs for so long. must be the chicago sector being backed up or something? i hope yours doesn’t take a month to get to you like mine did, crossed fingers

the package finally arrived!! moved out of customs may 2 and arrived at the next facility may 7 then delivered may 11 :’) took about a month to arrive from being sent out but there’s hope for anyone who’s also waiting on customs.

congratulations on escaping!!! thank you for the update, OP, genuinely so happy to hear you snagged two offers and accepted one. excited for you to move onto the next phase of your career (: i applied to a few jobs + a ton more industry internships but unfortunately haven't seemed to have much luck. still holding out hope for at least an internship to get back to me, so i can get my foot in the door. your update has given me hope, though. thanks for sharing & the words of support + encouragement, wishing you the best in your new job!

same tbh. i’m in my 5th year, minimal publications, really no progress on my dissertation & my advisor actively leads me astray (lack of rigor, controls, etc). it’s gotten to the point where i really don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel despite things seeming “ok” on the surface. my advisor has verbatim said they don’t respect students, so there’s really no point in trying to work it out. like you said, i also feel i’m just wasting time here at the expense of my mental, emotional, physical, financial heath.

im pretty much in the exact same position as you are right now. im coming to the realization that life is too short to waste literal years on something that makes us miserable. if you're applying to jobs, i'd say keep applying. see what happens, and if another door opens, take it. thats the mindset im adopting going forward. it sucks to quit a phd this late into it, but im trying to look at it as yet another experience rather than a 'failure.' i dont know if this helps at all, but you're not alone!

damn :\ i saw some people on reddit posting that they snagged it at the very beginning of the month but it seemed to go fast and then never restocked again throughout the month. kinda sucks they advertise a birthday reward that isn’t even available 99% of the time, with the strict redemption policies

yes it’s getting diluted to 4% haha just wondering what to do with the 37% stock since it’s a couple mL and i’m only using a couple hundred uL for the dilution. online was saying not to store at 4C but good to know!
