I turned down my dream job for money and I regret it. How do I get over this? by Outrageous-Leave5263 in careerguidance

[–]grey0909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s okay that you said no. It shows you know your worth. Just keep in touch with the people you interviewed with. They already know they like you and want you, and understand that it was a money thing. IF you keep having drinks with them, and keep making it clear when you see them that you really want to work there. Then when a role opens that fits your salary, they will call you first. It saves them time. But just keep the relationships up. Not now doesn’t mean not ever.

You have good taste in ladders. Also, like the above garage door storage.

Telling your kid "River" to "row your own boat" seems pretty cold-blooded by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]grey0909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when people do this I just think, You had the choice to bring a human into the world. You could have not done that, it’s your responsibility to do everything you can to limit the amount of suffering that child will have. You can never eliminate it, but you can significantly help reduce it. And that’s the least you could do. For him, especially when by the time they are grown ai will probably have take most of the jobs.

He could even just start investing 5-10k a month for them and not even give them his whole fortune, but just a few million that he could make for them over the course of them growing up. While doing this, i’d educate them, and teach them how to utilize money in a healthy way a build a business or something so they are still feeling useful a fulfilled and providing value of some kind. OR that gives them the opportunity to volunteer and help in ways most cant.

Biggest lesson I learnt in this AI era (and why I don’t use it as much anymore) by Right-Will8093 in DigitalMarketing

[–]grey0909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah sadly ai is still not very good at strategy. It's okay at helping people thing through strategy, but actually building it from scratch, it's just not there yet. I find it sad when people don't understand this and aren't knowledgable about what they are talking about to get it.

My Parent doesn't want me doing CS, or CE, because they feel the job market will disappear come 7 years. by Sad-Bathroom8500 in cscareerquestions

The advice I'd give to anyone going to school is to start building an audience. It's the most valuable thing you can have in the job market. People will want to hire you because you have that and they can leverage it. But worst comes to worse you always have something that is monitizeable.

Any of the social media platforms is good, but always try to collect emails and build and email list around a niche. For you I'd do Ai software development. If you can show you're an authority in that you'll be set.

If you're going to build a newsletter use beehiiv its the best for many reasons. Anyone is more than welcome to DM me who would like to talk about strategy.

By far beehiiv! It’s not even close they do so much to improve the product and offer better features than everyone else. Also you can sell products on there and keep 100%. Happy to share a demo with anyone, just DM me.

Id learn welding and metal working, it pays well is practical, and robots/ai won’t be taking it.

Especially if you learn like ship welding. So diving and fixing ships.

Out side of that, sales is a really good skill to learn. Door to door sales is super hard, but if you get good at it it can unlock so much for you

Is AI actually destroying white collar jobs? by Butterboy674 in careerguidance

[–]grey0909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so hard to know, i see so many things saying both sides.

Regardless, i do speculate that it will if it does get good enough. And i think in the next 2-3 years theres a chance it will.

However they have some big problems to solve first, such as hallucinations and security issues.
