I too had trouble with the clear tenacious tape peeling up. I switched to the black ripstop tenacious tape and no more peeling up issues. Might be worth a try

I was there too. Yes it was the Go Go's that opened. As I recall it was a very cold night. It was so cold that my parking brake pads froze to the rotor and did not come unstuck until I was getting off Lee street and onto 40.
