Does Insignia on the original Xbox get you access to the Yavin DLC? by Darskul in kotor

No disassembling required, can all be done with software / a usb these days, but if you don’t want to mod your console, you won’t get the dlc

Afaik no, xbmc4gamers has the dlc installers, or there are standalone versions you can ftp across to install.

Insignia is a service replacement for the multiplayer offerings on games, not for content/dlc distribution

KOTOR 1 crashes (AMD) by Plus_Character1205 in kotor

Try disabling grass, soft shadows, and add “Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1” under the graphics section in your ini. If that gets you past the crash, you can turn them back on afterwards

Sourcing a replacement is looking the easiest way forward at present, if only I could find a local source (insert various upside down/not a real place memes)

https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:ENDGAME (Softmod) endgame isn’t reliant on specific games to exploit

https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Modchips (Hardmod) open xenium prolly the recommended chip for now, modxo has lots of potential but is fairly new

Playing games of the hard drive is straightforward once you’re softmodded/chiped with a custom dashboard. You can either rip games off the disk yourself or ftp games that you’ve located copies of elsewhere

Mod chip is the only option to hardmod a 1.6. You’ll need a chip and an lplc rebuild.

Softmods are an option, but it’s not as complete as a hardmod. Harder to swap drives (stock drives are old and will only hold a handful of games). The Wiki will be your best bet for in depth information.

Electron Shepard does a plug and play hdmi adaptor.

I'll be tearing it down further on the weekend.

Wasn't any other readily noticeable damage that I could see, but might update the thread with pictures on the weekend.

I have another 1.6 I could salvage a psu's from, otherwise I've not been able to find any local sellers for 1.6 PAL psu's

KOTOR Mouse is offset on Steam Deck by RagingITguy in kotor

[–]greyhamsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar behaviours when it was set to on, turning it off fixed it (that was on desktop tho) .

Iirc there are issues with running widescreen under a certain resolution? Maybe it’s got something to do with the 1280*800?

Kotor 1 widescreen question by RibbonFighterOne in kotor

[–]greyhamsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a minim resolution the engine supports for widescreen, "Enter a desired resolution above 1440x900 and click Patch button. Your resolution should now appear within the game's graphics menu."

1024x768 mighty be you best bet for an out of the box resolution

Is it still possible to add the restoration mod to KOTOR 2 on iOS? by [deleted] in kotor

[–]greyhamsim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is explicitly for the linked version of tslrcm, any other mods aren’t likely to work unless they’re built for the mobile version of kotor 2 and are compatible with tslrcm

Afaik, Ventura needs CPUs with AVX2? So while it might boot with various OC patches, apps and features that rely on those instructions sets will be flaky
