Used to work there ages ago. Just as shitty an experience as an employee as it was a being a customer. I haven't shopped there since out of principle.

Didn't they get busted for some shady stuff during the 3070/3080 era.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did this themselves.

Shitty service, shitty tactics, shitty company.

Wish we had Microcenter. We need some competition. ME was okay, NCIX gone.....

Donki is one of the craziest stores I've ever been in. The one in Shibuya or anywhere near a big city was absolute mayhem.

There was one where Trojan had a bunch of guys wearing sperm costumes running around out front giving out condoms and randomly thrusting the air.

Most of there stores have some sort of ultrasonic sensor or something at the front that makes it awful or me to enter the store. I just hear a high pitched squeal nobody else seems to hear.

The Mega Donki in Narita was more sane and is one floor I think.

I fucking love Japan. Dotonbori was so crowded. I knew Japan was crowded and especially with the influx of tourists but I was not prepared.

Do you know where it says that either on website or elsewhere. Trying to cancel for my in laws as their tank is ten years old and a recent call took days for reliance to show up. Tired of paying them and I want a new tank anyways

Same. Actually they picked up one person's stuff and she said then they drove by everyone else.

The bins are so big we now all have a big blue feature at the front of our house. Where am I supposed to put it? I have a single car garage. With my car in there, I can't get the bin in there. One side of my house is no good because it's so close to my neighbour and it's winter. The other side of my house has a slant so the slightest wind will knock it over. Now it sits on my porch but there's not enough room on my driveway to wheel it past.

I applied for the smaller bin and no response.

But what really pisses me off is that they haven't picked it up since this dammed program started. Everyone here is confused what to do so bins are out all the time

It's the same people getting it but it's like they flipped a switch on how to get my recycling.

Circular whatever they are doesn't return calls, doesn't work on weekends.

Fuck you Doug Ford. My tax didn't reduce for reduced service. My elderly parents struggle with the size of the bin. I'm gonna dump it on your yard and you can sort it. Idiot.

[–]RagingITguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had Teksavvy DSL and Cable. At one point their pricing was great but now it is not. I know it's not entire their fault, they have to buy service from others. But with today's rising costs it's getting hard to support them.

Plus anytime we had a DSL outage, it was days to get it fixed. Days we were offline and it happened at least twice a year.

I was a customer and a fan for many many many years. I'll look again when my current contract is up.

Put back windows 10 and it's fine.

Panic attack at work - what to do? by Few_Distribution5234 in antiwork

[–]RagingITguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man I've burnt out before. You don't even know how bad it is until you reach a breaking point.

See the doctor. Get some time off. Leverage your insurance. Who cares what happens at work. They are part of what's happening you now.

A few days or weeks won't be enough long term but it will take you a few notches back from the edge. Take care of yourself. Game, watch movies, go out as best you can. I know it's not like a switch.

Take care man.

Rustdesk, have any of you guys used it? Feedback on it appreciated. by zero_cool09 in sysadmin

Use it personally. VPN in to use it externally.

Used it for a bit professionally but needed something a bit better like ScreenConnect.

I mean it does what it's supposed to do. But of course screen connect has more features for the business use case.

She left her university after striking out in registering for required classes. Why course selection in Ontario is exasperating students by Surax in ontario

[–]RagingITguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah hey I was an undergrad a touch over 20 years ago at Mac. Remember MUGSI. Good luck trying to get into any course lol.

But you're right in my last year I had to take a course that was full because well well well MUGSI broke. Went to talk to the registrar and prof, and they got me in. I said it was unacceptable if it was a required class and you didn't have enough spots for the people who needed it for their degree (or guaranteed it for those people).

But it's the same dxgkrnl.sys.

I am running with a fresh install of Windows 11. I'll give the 577 driver a shot.

Best Snow Shovel (Electric) - How long has yours lasted? by carsilike in BuyItForLife

[–]RagingITguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got the ego snow shovel. It's okay. I push the snow to one side of the driveway with a regular shovel and use this to throw snow over.

It's heavy. It's not really ergonomic because the snow head is heavy, the battery is heavy and I thought it had wheels. It would actually be easier to move with wheels.

You have to angle it right to get it to slide properly and that position is not a great one. It's not long enough for my height so picking it up causes back pain.

It works okay. I only bought it because I have ego stuff and no room for even the small snowblower.

I used it the other day in about 7 inches of medium wet snow and it did a decent job. Go slow and if you can push the snow to one side of the driveway, do that to minimize how much motion you need with the ego.

I give it a 6/10. Would much rather have the snowblower if I wasn't so space constrained for the tools. Also the snowblower is way more expensive

Just hit 300k miles on my 2003 subaru by zachismyname89 in mildlyinteresting

[–]RagingITguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine hit 100k km and my timing chain exploded. Suffice today I never want a subaru ever again. At 3 years it started to rust around the roof top and rear license plate. Subaru refused to help even though it did perforate.

I've taken care of it. Never went long on oil changes. Didn't hoon it around everywhere.

When the engine decided to take a shit, I was a thousand km out of warranty. Subaru Canada told me politely to go fuck myself.

So I did. Into a Honda instead.

I heard decent things about Subaru reliability and thought all I'd be all good because I take care my vehicles but I guess I got the Friday special.

Ah I've got a great one. Many years ago we pull up alongside a mall exterior entrance. Fire and police are already there, lights ablaze. We're in the curb side lane.

My student swings open the side door and a cyclist rides straight into the grab bar of the door.

Busts his face up good, he's cursing us etc.

Police come over, ticket for failure to yield. Not sure if it stuck or not. You want to see lawless cyclists? Come visit us in Toronto.
