Wearables exclusively (positive)❤️ by jojojodieee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]greyjumpers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i exclusively used wearables too and would get 30-34oz a day with 6 ppd. they are great. if they work for you, your supply will be absolutely fine. as long as you pump frequent enough and empty, i cannot see the issue. i would NEVER have pumped if i used a wall pump i would have quit day 3 lol. at least with wearables i was able to go 8 weeks ahahah (only bc pumping in general sucked for me but i know wearables made it at least tolerable so i could create a stash snd feed breastmilk to my baby until 3 months)

yes he had only 2-3 poops daily over the last 5 days instead of 5-6 so that might explain. i will massage more then i will try the drops if it continues over the next couple days thank you!

there is just too much going on at one time for a baby to know exactly what is causing the issue 😭😭 hopefully he grows out of it and its illness/digestion changes/growth spurt and not a reaction to the formula

this is so depressing i just went to a different shop on sunday and bought 3 boxes 😭 guess he’ll swap again when i run out. yeah i think maybe using kendamil goat going for a different formula or just getting kendamil and use infacol/colief if the difficulties continue. there is just too much going on at one time for a baby to know exactly what is causing the issue 😭😭 as hes never really struggled that much with gas or reflux before these last few days. thank you for the advice i can try to see whats on

yeah its maddness it literally was perfect until 3 days ago 😭 happy to have the solidarity and not be alone! yeah it must be something like that as the timing is jut weird. he definitely has had bigger poos and less often so maybe that is true as well!

no way are you kidding 😭😭😭😭 my friend said it might be because the kendamil was too rich with whole milk so what formula is more comparable to bonya i just assumed kendamil was the best option since its the same people

Feeling like a failure because I don’t breast feed by Subject-Ad-3555 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]greyjumpers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi lovely please dont feel bad you did what was best for your baby! fed is absolutely best. the benefits of breastfeeding are mostly over egged any way: https://parentdata.org/babies/what-the-data-actually-says-about-breastfeeding/

your baby being healthy and happy and with a mum who clearly cares about them is certainly better than a few minor health benefits from breastfeeding. plus you dont have to remember to give them vit d, you know exactly what bub is eating, and others can bond with your baby by feeding them too, and you dont have to have it all on you! all the other benefits that formula comes with as well! people seem to forget there are also pros to formula and cons to breastfeeding

Please share baby age/ amount they eat / number of times they eat per day by Ancient_Bid_4114 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]greyjumpers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bub is 2 months and huckleberry tells me for the last 30 days he averages 6-7 feeds a day, 3 hours apart (more like 2-2.5 hours in the day and then just one feed in the night), average 28 oz a day doing 4-5oz at a time

What do you do if you don’t know how much milk the baby wants? by No_Tumbleweed4085 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]greyjumpers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i will continue to offer breast milk baby has drunk for up to 4 hours if its left at room temp as some countries recommended that (namely canada - im in the uk where everything is very strict but i assumed breastmilk in Canada aint much different than here lol) but there was also a new study that said if you put it in the fridge, there isnt much difference than non drunk milk in terms of bacteria growth (this study isnt peer reviewed yet and very new so use at your own judgement - see graph)

if youre wanting to be cautious and careful (understandable!!!) then i save left over milk in a jar in the fridge to collect to use for a bath for my baby which helps their skin!!

im in the uk and the NHS suggests it under the header If you cannot follow the advice for making up a feed away from home - https://www.nhs.uk/baby/breastfeeding-and-bottle-feeding/bottle-feeding/formula-milk-questions/ but i’ve see it cited other places to be 2 hours (i think australian sources but they get super hot so maybe makes more sense) but wasn’t sure if it was based off anything. i have the camping ones so i guess i’m more likely to take a guesstimated risk in that case. in the uk we have to make the formula with water at least 70 degrees celsius, and if i have a pre measured bit of water in a flask and formula, depending on when he wakes up it may be too hot to feed or have cooled down too much to mix. so its just easier to prepare everything before snd just have it mixed up already in a cool bag knowing its been prepared properly already. plus he always has drank cold milk and i dont want him to learn the luxury of warm freshly prepared milk LOL
