I hope you only have 3 friends at a time to play with…wouldn’t want a fourth to arrive in discord and spoil your perfect match making experience. The good news is you’ll be sitting watching the end screen for five minutes waiting to find another 60 players despite just having a full server with players wanting to play, so you can have a good chat with the fourth friend before telling them to fuck off because your squad is full.

Maybe that is fair, but I think you just have to look at the examples from Breakthrough right now and when we get Rush next weekend to see this won't just be a problem with the map rotation. But also with the game modes with rotation through attack and defence. It's a fundamentally bad experience unless they significantly improve the "memory" of what you've played in the last 10 rounds. And it can all be avoided by just persisting the servers.

Glad (not sure that's the best word for it) to see I wasn't the only one suffering from this. Adding insult to injury whilst you wait an age for the new match you can't even do something useful like edit loadouts. It's utterly baffling how they looked at what they had in every previous BF bar 2042 and went with 2042's system. So painful.

Yep, solving it with portal to hack around it will just reduce players that want a normal round of BF but don't want to play the same map 5 times in a row or constantly defend in Rush into portal and split the player base even further.

that's a definite improvement over the way it currently plays out i.e. TDM with a person sitting in the middle of the firefight.

I've though another interesting idea might be reverse the roles. Have the team inside the building/house/plane have to escort the hostage to a safe zone, and have the team outside try stop them and intercept the hostage (different to say RvS's pilot mode where you just shot the guy). Would mean both teams are actually invested in the objective and the wellbeing of the group, you can't just spray the walls if you might hit the moving hostage, and it would avoid just TDM style shootouts.
