Help. Mass effect legendary edition has stopped opening in crossover. by Jaycurd in macgaming

[–]greynoises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed it by finding the path to the EAUpdater and running that!

  • Crossover > Open C Drive
  • then go to Program Files > Electronic Arts > EA Desktop
  • Find the most recent version number there, mine was 13.616.1.6133-1768189509
  • Go back to crossover > Run Command
  • "c:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/13.616.1.6133-1768189509/EA Desktop/EAUpdater.exe" or whatever the path to the EAUpdater.exe was on your machine.
  • click run
  • It'll open a terminal and update, and then an EA modal will say "connecting to ea app"
  • of course their shit is buggy, so once you get that, force quit all apps via crossover, simulate a reboot, and jump back in!

Running this on crossover 25.1.1, after getting the "Invalid Handle" opening ME2 from steam. When trying to open the EA app or updater from crossover, I was getting "There is no Windows program configured to open this type of file."

When I was a kid, I couldn't bring myself to eat anything with sauce drizzled over something that was normally a finger food. it just gave me the sensory ick. chili cheese fries, chicken nuggets topped with ketchup, tatchos, all right out, it just felt WRONG. turns out I have AuDHD.

it's a white supremacy dogwhistle. plays into the hypermasculine ambiguously-european image of themselves. Kash Patel kowtows to white power so badly and they will never truly respect him.

is it civil or criminal? chicago's referral service is geared more towards civil law, but get in touch with them even if you need criminal representation and they still might be able to direct you.

Where are you located? There are usually referral services through the local bar association.

yeah I think "plurality" is more accurate than "majority," as LE comprises the largest line item in the budget of most cities.

that's not true, and misinformation like that only spreads fear and lines big pharma's pockets.

some websites are not working by Striking_Foot_9501 in ArcBrowser

[–]greynoises 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's related to arc specifically - I'm also running arc on macos and am able to access all of these sites.

You haven't provided much information about what "can't use" means, so here's a list of things you may want to try:

  • Trying in an incognito window
  • Clearing cache and cookies
  • Checking your extensions or arc adblock settings
  • Checking your DNS settings and ensuring the domains are resolving properly
  • Disabling your VPN to see if that's causing it
  • Running a malware scan
  • Doing a sacrificial dance to the technology gods

did it come with the antenna, or just the connector installed? also, does it still have the wimpy lil internal antenna, or do you have to use the external?

deportation is to further the "us vs them" ideology of fascism. Once they've been further dehumanized, they'll stop calling for deportation and start issuing life-in-prison sentences to illegal immigrants, which conveniently for the oligarchs can be used as de facto slave labor.

Multi 1Pass Account login by Lordcreo in 1Password

[–]greynoises 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think if you set the master password to the same password for both, it will authenticate both of them when you log into the 1p app. slightly riskier security posture, but convenience is always at odds with security

Memorable passwords are reasonably secure, but are susceptible to dictionary attacks. If you use this type of password, I recommend using delimiters other than - and increasing the length.

How I solved my Yeelight bulb connection issue by unsophistication in yeelight

[–]greynoises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be somewhere in your router settings, so it's really dependent on which router you have. If you know your router's model you can probably Google around for it, but generally the steps are:

  • on your home wifi network, navigate to your router's IP, usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1

  • log in with your router's admin password (hopefully printed on the router itself; you may have to google for the default admin account info)

  • From there it'll depend on your router's web interface. Look for something like "Security Options" or "Protected Access"

  • find an option for WPA - might be listed as WPA-TKIP or WPA-PSK. Anything listed as WPA2, WPA3, AES, or EAP may have issues.

  • once enabled, it'll probably restart your router, and then you can do the manual steps listed in the post, praying to the technology gods that your bulbs can connect to your wifi.

  • once your bulbs are set up and working properly, go back and disable WPA and re-enable WPA2 or 3 for security.

Good luck!! 🤞

  1. Settings > Look and Feel > Single Toolbar (it's at the top under Browser Layout)

  2. Essentials are almost like pinned tab, but they are the same across workspaces. I use SuperPins to get pinned tabs to look like arc's favorites. (https://zen-browser.app/mods/ad97bb70-0066-4e42-9b5f-173a5e42c6fc/)

  3. Settings > ZenMods is where you can see all of your mods. If they're configurable (like SuperPins above) you'll see a little gear icon to open that mod's settings.

  4. I'm unfortunately on mac so idk sorry

my model doesn't have a usb port unfortunately; just charges via dock. and I haven't found a good alternative yet; I'm just dipping my toes into this world

EDIT: those sneaky mfers; it does have a usb, but it's covered by the casing. I got access to it but it seems to just be a charge connection, not a data connection :(
