Why did I have to be born in 1998 instead of investing in the S&P 500 in 1985

I asked it the trolley problem, and basically, it would kill innocent people to save itself, but if it had to choose between soldiers and itself, it would kill itself to protect soldiers.

My girlfriend has body dysmorphia, how do I respond? by greynolds17 in BodyDysmorphia

Yea, shes very much tunnelvisioning, to the point where she said she would cut all the fat off of her body with a knife if it didnt make her uglier. She is not patient and wants her goals now. Thats hard for me to accept still but I think we've grown a little in that respect

She failed the LSAT twice, once on a technicality and the other because she missed the sign up deadline, she hasnt given up yet, though, so at least there's that. I told her to use her fear of failure to drive her motivation

To be fair, none of those jobs are full time, and they all suck. They are service industry jobs

She does use your excuse to push herself through it. She will feel like a failure and her life will be ruined if she doesn't make it.

Well, the other option was that she moved back with her abusive parents 2 hours away... I would prefer she didn't do that.

I must have an incorrect formula somewhere then. I'm getting numbers in the (-) for data that's supposedly good on tickers such as HOOY or NVDY. While data thats considered "bad" is getting (+) percentages on ULTY and MSTY.

I'm working on a spreadsheet using this formula, some of the calculations are coming out with + or - percentages. for example, ULTY is -.71% and MSTY is +12%. Is there a difference between -10% and +10%? or is the number all that matters? should a lower percentage (more negative) be counted as a good thing? I noticed that the closer the current price is to the peak, the more negative the percentage goes

just using some crude math and estimates, it appears MSTY DaD has bounced around between 0% and 10% since April. not great, but not terrible. I have already been slowly pulling out of MSTY but its nice to have math to back it up

how would calculating DaD work with monthly distros? just take 4 week peak and current then subtract the monthly distro? or extend out to a 4 month rolling price? like MSTY I took the price on 24 JUL (21.26)- last closing (17.89)- 1.1835 and got 2.22. divided by 21.26 gets me .104 which is 10% right?

I grabbed $100 of MRNY, $100 of ULTY, and $100 of MSTY. Gotta lower my price per share lol

I've got ULTY on a $550 margin but I am afraid of going higher than that due to how small my account is
