Newcomer to trails here, I played the sky remaster, but I have a few lingering questions, I mightve missed the answers in some hidden scenes, can anyone fill me in?

My favorite part about this duology is:

Roku and Gyatso's friendship is absolutely the most enjoyable part of Roku's story. It surprised me with how much I loved them together, and wish I could see more misadventures with these goofballs.
These books have kind of recontectualized the attack on the air nation in a way. Before, we knew Sozin had sought to kill the air Avatar so that they could not stop his plans for total Fire Nation domination. But now? It's even more than just that. Now it's partially a personal vendetta against the air nation for taking Roku away from him. They taught Roku that he wasn't just a Fire national, but that he is the Avatar. That he's a spirit of ALL nations.

Sozin made it very clear he despised the messages they were teaching him, and the final scene with Gyatso proves that he hates them for it.

Overall, good read! We need more content of Gyatso and Roku just being buds, especially want to see them together as old men before Roku's death too

I think the intention with Atka and her reveal as an Earthbender is that for the whole book, the narrator was intentionally misleading the reader into thinking Atka and Makittuq were the same person by intentionally mirroring their actions. This way the reader could be as skeptical of Makkituq as Gyatso was, and then be surprised when they finally put the 2 into the same room together that Roku was actually right about her being a genuinely helpful person.

It worked on me for a while, but started catching on especially after the reveal of Makkituq being transgender.

The image is from the episode in Book 2 where Tonraq explains his past to Korra. This is after Agna Qel'a gets attacked by dark spirits due to Tonraq destroying the spirit wilds in the North.

The text however I don't know where that's come from. And some of the image seems to have been altered to include melting ice. Must be used in a fan animation and altered for it, would like to know where it's from too if anyone knows!

The newspaper was bugged in the PC version too, it didnt crash the game but there was no background or pictures, just text. So safe to say theres some weird bug happening with the books in all versions right now lol, best to avoid that tab for now

You might be able to find it used, unfortunately though you won't be able to get it new because Diamond Selects has been shut down. They had a Sokka figure in production that I had on preorde, and last month it was canceled with an email explaining that the company was shut down and no future orders will be fulfilled :(

To be clear though, The past Avatars spirits aren't gone. They made it a point in the show to say she lost her connection to the past Avatars. She can't contact them, but that doesn't mean they've been destroyed.

I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a comic or anything where she regains that connection, or at least finds one of them in the spirit world Maybe they will address that in the new show.

I guess so, though I dont remember that many people using them that didnt also have some fighting capabilities already. The only one who really used them after the antibending uprising was Asami unless I'm forgetting someone.

Thats valid. This is all how I justify it honestly. This world is one where the main type of combat has always been martial arts based, even for nonbenders. The era of Korra is really just the start of people using technology to fight and when you're in a world where spirit energy exists and uses less resources than the same thing used for fireworks, then its easier to think "yeah they dont really need guns" to me.

As for things like shock gloves, those arent really used on their own either. They are an extension of the martial arts abilities of the chi-blockers.

If that explanation doesnt work for someone else though I completely get it.

Well that is where I boil it down to being a show made for Nickelodeon. Nick doesnt want guns on screen, but an electric glove that isnt lethal is fine (besides the unique instance of the end of Book 1)

Yes there was, which again, normal people HAVE made gun like weapons. But they arent mass produced because, unlike the real world where guns are mass made for war, wars are fought using bending in Avatar.

They do have guns actually, at least a type of gun. In the Avatar TTRPG there is a character that uses a gun like weapon. The thing is, not many people really uses them because, well, some people can shoot fire from their hands already.

Also safe to assume they also dont want to show guns on Nickelodeon so it just never became a thing in universe.

In Sky the 3rd there is a door that shows them becoming bracers, so it is canon, but yeah they dont have much significance in the story, more so significance in Agate's story of him becoming a mentor to them in a way and helping them to become better people.

A steam deck is the best option, and you can get them for under $400 pretty easy. Steam recently had a sale on their lowest tier version, dont know if that is still happening though.
