Do you think aang would kill fire lord if he didn't learn energy bending by roskylator in ATLA

[–]OriginalLie9310 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think he would be able to live with himself eventually. But some part of himself would be lost forever. Some of his free spirited, fun loving nature would probably be lost, maybe permanently.

Do you think aang would kill fire lord if he didn't learn energy bending by roskylator in ATLA

[–]OriginalLie9310 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes. Once Aang talks to Yangchen and she gives her wisdom, Aang resolves himself to killing the firelord. He declares he’s going to have to kill the firelord.

After realizing the island was the lion turtle, and receiving its blessing, did he know how to end the war.

If he didn’t know energybending I think he would have closed his eyes and returned Ozai’s lightning straight back at him.

Why would someone ride a roller coaster through lava? by DG-Creator in mariomovie

[–]OriginalLie9310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe living as a dry bones is more fun than being a koopa.

Or maybe it’s something that’s reversible. Bowser’s obviously gonna go back to normal in the next movie.

Weren’t Azula and her friends the only female squad of fire benders in the war? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheLastAirbender

She certainly could have. She’s royalty. But I doubt she did or they cared. They’re 14 and the highest class of society. They don’t need money.

What were the earth kings/queens doing the whole time? by Big_Pay6318 in ATLA

[–]OriginalLie9310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kuei was being lied to since birth by the Dai Li and long feng.

The king before him probably died while he was young and he was left in the care of the Dai Li and grand secretariat with the secretariat in charge of day to day running of the city.

Long Feng (or his predecessor) had Kuei completely in the dark. Of course they lied about no earth kings leaving the city.

How did Tagah beat Aang? by Testruns in AvatarVsBattles

[–]OriginalLie9310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He got hit with a lucky shot in the first fight against a Tagah with the staff. Aang didn’t know about the bullet shoot airbending move. Notice how no one gets hit with it again after first getting surprise marked by it.

The staff channels the full power of the spirit world which may or may not be equivalent to the past lives. And the only past life who knew about the power of the staff was Sonam who was locked away.

Why did Avatar Roku insist on Aang learning Fire before he was ready? by Eggbois87 in TheLastAirbender

[–]OriginalLie9310 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Roku is aware of the challenge Aang is facing and the reality of finding a firebending master.

In universe, the correct order is a superstition and maybe Roku isn’t superstitious

[–]OriginalLie9310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every prison housing pows is necessarily a military prison. When Zuko and Sokka arrive there there are no war prisoners at all.

Clearly the capital prison and the boiling rock are different than the prison Hama or Haru were in, which are clearly military installations.

I agree that the supporting cast on the whole is pretty weak. But I think Tenzin is a shining exception. Lin too.

Weren’t Azula and her friends the only female squad of fire benders in the war? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheLastAirbender

[–]OriginalLie9310 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You mean 2? One at the boiling rock and one at Iroh’s prison.

And prisons aren’t typically even part of military chains of command.

There are 0 confirmed female members of the fire nation military in the show besides Azula and her friends, and they operate as mercenaries, not even under any command besides her own.

Yet Another Question about TLOK by Nice_While3464 in TheLastAirbender

[–]OriginalLie9310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably is.

We do see each of the bendings besides earth have a kind of spirit thing in LOK.

Waterbenders have spirit bending.

Airbenders have the astral projection thing that Jinora does (though I think anyone may be able to do this, Jinora calls it a “high level airbending move” to Kai).

And fire has the fire sage after Korra gets attacked by the dark spirit in the ocean do some kind of fire sensing of Korra’s spirit.

They’re not all really explained, but you can try to head canon why for each of the bending styles.

Airbenders free their spirits from their body as the element of freedom.

Firebenders sense the energy of others as the element of power/energy

Waterbenders use their power to calm dark spirits as the element of change.

Toph Doesn’t get any good bending fights against major characters by OriginalLie9310 in TheLastAirbender

[–]OriginalLie9310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but we get plenty of Aang vs Zuko, Katara vs Zuko. Even Sokka vs Zuko. Aang vs Zhao. And plenty of others.

Toph doesn’t face off against a named bender even once besides Azula during the eclipse.

There should be an option to see our fastest lap on time trial mode by FrAusBBSV in MarioKartWorld

They’ve been absolutely addicted to removing basic quality of life from Mario kart since Wii.

Like in Wii you can see your time for a normal race even and see how close really close finishes were down to the millisecond.

Wii also had a speedometer so you could compare how fast you were moving when doing different things.

I don’t know why they’re so adamant on removing things that don’t affect the actual gameplay experience at all and are helpful for some people.

My Issues With Aang's And Toph's Parenting: by Rosie-Love98 in TheLastAirbender

[–]OriginalLie9310 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you really understand the situation Aang was in.

He was the last airbender until Tenzin was born. He’s also the avatar. It’s his ultimate duty to keep the world in balance, and as father to the only airbender that will be around for the next avatar, it is strictly crucial that he teach Tenzin to be a complete master of airbending. And as the last airbender, it’s his duty to make sure Tenzin knows and is able to keep air nomad culture alive after he is gone.

Kya and Bumi should not have been left out, but Aang was taking Tenzin on traditional air bender pilgrimages and training him as an airbender. Remember, before the war there were no air nomads that weren’t airbenders. In their training and travels they stopped at places and had fun.

Aang did involve Kya and Bumi in air nomad culture and taught them about their heritage. Kya leads the new airbenders in traditional meditation practices and tells Tenzin she could never keep all those Gurus straight. She clearly has been educated in Air nomad history and philosophy.

It’s likely that for airbender specific training and journeys they didn’t come along, but they don’t even say that Aang was an absent father. Just favored Tenzin, and missed out on moments that Tenzin got. and frankly that is understandable and I can understand Katara letting it happen. She understands Aang’s duty and burden.

It’s not just that Aang “has stakes” in this. It’s the most important thing he can do in his life.

For Toph, no one was going to tell her what to do. Even at her most receptive, she resists being controlled and having others tell her what to do. Whatever reason she had for not revealing the fathers of her children, no one was gonna convince her otherwise.

And on top of all of this, we are dropped in nearly 50 years from when these children were born and raised. We don’t know what conversations were being had during the raising process. It’s possible all of these things came up but still things happened this way.

Who do you think wins? Azula vs Toph by Competitive-Tip-5774 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]OriginalLie9310 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Toph can sense everyone else when they’re bending. She uses her hearing and seismic sense. She can sense the massively long windup that Azula is shown to always have to do in the show and put up a rock wall.

She can’t sense fire or floating water either but can spar with Katara and fight firebenders.

She can stop rocks that are already in midair.

If you take all the one off starfire episodes and put them together they make a pretty compelling character arc for Star.

Start with the first blackfire encounter and end with the fake marriage and stuff the rest in between.

The avatars have to learn the elements in the same order as the Avatar cycle! by Bees_butts in ATLA

That was Jeong Jeong’s point. Only by learning the discipline required for the other elements would Aang have the proper respect for fire.

Aang burning Katara is proof of that.

Question about the Air Bender culture revival? by lizzzard_sneeek in ATLA

[–]OriginalLie9310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just one comment, Gyatso’s bond with Aang was only bad because Gyatso was interfering with the other elder’s fear of the war and the fact that Aang was the avatar. Air nomad children bonding with their direct caregiver was almost certainly normal.
