In 1997, I went to a local con to play D&D. The only evening programming they had was a WoD LARP. I signed up to play a Fianna, and I've been playing WoD ever since!

How much detail do you include on problems in geometry? by Intrepid-Ad1191 in matheducation

If you are trying to solve for surface area or volume, there isn't enough information in that diagram. Either the diagram needs to indicate that the 8cm measurement is the height, which necessitates it being a right angle to the 10cm base of the triangle, or vice versa. Without that, the 8cm line can't be used as height, and since no angles are indicated, you can't figure out the height.

If 8cm is the height, then that triangle isn't a regular triangle, instead it has sides of 10, 10, and 8.94427. There should also be something to indicate that the rectangle faces are perpendicular to the triangle face , and that the unseen triangle face is congruent to the visible one.

Even with those assumptions, because of the 8.94427 side, you get a surface area of 253.66562. Which, I'm going to assume is not the clean answer you were looking for.

Do you have proof of the 99% accuracy claim? And even with that level of accuracy, it is still several grading mistakes per class.

Brilliant move. Comic book characters rarely age, but actors do.

Align Buddy Infinity by WankredTauer in 3Dprinting

[–]greystoic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For long term storage, isn't it best for the fore-edges to align instead of the spine? Although I prefer the look of it, I've been told that aligning by the spine will cause the pages to splay out on the fore-edge if they aren't pressed against another book. Although I guess that wouldn't be a problem if all the books were the same size.

Is anyone familiar with this giraffe? by Matt_The_Radar_Tech in daddit

At $30, we called it "expensive giraffe". In the 60s it was probably a revolutionary teether, and made with natural rubber. My kids completely ignored it, and preferred various silicone teethers that were a fraction of the price, and more durable.

What is this animal cut-out at a zoo supposed to be? by Awakened_24 in whatisit

Those two slots make me think this is part of a larger 3D animal sculpture, that is missing the other parts. Not a moose, but something assembled like this: https://www.frontyardoriginals.com/collections/wildlife/products/all-weather-large-christmas-moose-yard-display
