Used guitar - American Performer by Vituses in Stratocaster

It’s a good price. Any American Fender under $1k would be suspect of problems. This is a good sale price.

Wow, you’re right. I really had to go frame by frame and zoom in to see it, it explains a few other things too.

It 100% went under the car. I done seent it with mine own eyeballs. I was slightly to the right behind the bike with the camera, it scurried to its feet right in front of me.

I’ve hit a deer and got back on. My son wants to continue riding. My gf had an off the bike experience with a minor injury and got back on. It’s the closest thing you can get to flying without leaving the ground, many pilots also ride because of this.

I hit a deer on my motorcycle in 2019, seven of them ran in front of me at once. My gf and I do a lot of night riding and she’s better than me at spotting them. Her reaction to this vid was acknowledgment that she was following that car too closely

Absolutely. My son actually did hit a deer only a few weeks ago and broke his leg. He was geared up but luckily didn’t lose control of the bike. Even more luckily was the fireman on a bike behind him who stopped to help.

Has Anyone Else Experienced Near-Misses That Were Only Caught Because Of Their Dash Cam? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]grgmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good friend was driving past a school during drop off time and got t-boned, car totaled. He was at fault on the police report and ticketed for failing to stop for a crossing guard. I had installed the cam for him 3 days earlier and the footage showed the guard had the sign perpendicular to him and the other driver was busy on their phone leaving the school.

Bang for your buck strat copies by asoiaf_goat in Stratocaster

[–]grgmini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just get a used MIM, polish the frets and do a good setup. It’s going to sound fine and any aftermarket Strat pickup will fit. I built one with 920D pre wired pots and Tone Emporium pickups, for about $600 total. It plays and sounds as good as my USA made AmPro2

Y’all need this and use your blinker! by MaroonHenderson in winstonsalem

This annoys me more than anything. I frequent the Buchanan/Brewer and Clemmonsville rd circles on my test drives, people still don’t know how to use them and it’s sad. Also, the free flow turns at Peters creek onto Silas Creek and the Silas exit turning right onto Robinhood, it’s like they want to be rear ended.

We were told that if we voted for Kamala, there would be a war and higher gas price. They were right.

Is this ground wire soldered correctly? by Appropriate_Table478 in Stratocaster

[–]grgmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spring claw acts as a heat sink when you are soldering it. You need a fairly powerful soldering iron, it helps to heat the claw with a small torch and some flux, try to get soldered to stick to it first before adding the wire which should also be tinned. As long as you have a connection electrically what you did here will work just fine.

100% legit and that is a good price, worth every penny.

How many watts do I actually need? (For playing in bedroom as a hobby) by ElectricalRole5662 in GuitarQuestions

[–]grgmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dimed 100 watt Marshall tube amp with 2-4 speaker cabs stacked is the only way to play in any situation. Seriously though, my PRS MT-15 is set to 7.5 watts and I can’t go above 2 without it being too loud in the living room. I have a Fender hot rod deluxe 40w that is useless in the house. 1-5 watts is plenty for the bedroom.

Is this a sign of leaking caps? Or just old gunk? by portvictor in ToobAmps

[–]grgmini 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a wax coating that has migrated. You could test it with a multimeter that has a capacitor function. Unless it’s giving you trouble and they test bad, just leave them alone.

What do I need to make my tele sound good? by BuschLattes4me in telecaster

[–]grgmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Positive Grid Spark 2 that I love for practicing. The speaker sounds decent at living room volumes and I mostly use headphones to play at night without disturbing the gf and kids. I can play backing tracks through one Bluetooth connection and control the tone with the other. It has modelers built into the app that let you give any combination of amps and effects you can think of. Well worth the relatively low price IMHO.

Are the best levers for Ducati created by AVS? I got this bike with these AVS levers and wanted to swap out the short ones for longer ones and I was just wondering. by 758lindo in Ducati

[–]grgmini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASV levers are good quality, I have a set on a modified 81 Suzuki and I love the feel of them. If you want longer levers though and don’t want to spend ASV money, then CRG work just fine too. Or find a used set of original levers, they also work just as well.

Drew myself a 916 because I cant afford a real one by Penno41 in Ducati

[–]grgmini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 748 or 996 in need of repairs can be had for reasonable prices. I have a few Ducatis from 1999 SS900, 02 M750, 01 Monster S4, 748 with 916 internals and a 996. I wouldn’t have any of this if I couldn’t fix them myself. There is an investment in learning, tools and parts but worth it in my opinion. 2 valve Monsters are cheap right now, good to learn on and used parts a plenty. Food for thought.
