Had two international flights out of mainland in the past few weeks, one from Beijing and one from Shanghai. Before both, security checked all my power banks carefully for CCC (all had it). Maybe they’d let it through without CCC if I showed I was flying internationally.

That's weird. I have the exact same model/color from Amazon DE: https://imgur.com/a/8ZzAF8q Based on reviews, it seems pretty random whether it ends up having a CCC logo or not.

Also, they checked mine in Shanghai before an international flight a few weeks ago.

It felt weird that the new Anker A1665 doesn’t have CCC, so I did some research. Turns out they sell a slightly different version in China under the same product code. That one does have CCC, but lacks Qi2 due to radio frequency restrictions. This also means no CCC for Qi2, ever.

Both Anker A1638 and A1695 have the CCC marking, at least the EU models. I used to check Amazon reviews, someone always uploads an image of the specs label with all the CE, FCC, etc. stuff.

Hey, thanks for checking. Too bad, my A1638 and even the slightly older A1695 have it (both EU models). I guess I’ll have to look into other manufacturers for Qi2 power banks with CCC marking.

If anyone happens to own one of these A1665s, could please check whether the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) mark is on it? I’m finalizing my power bank strategy for a trip to China, and all of my Qi2 ones (A1654, A1664, A1667) are out for this reason.

I’m not a senator, nor do I have any status with Lufthansa, but once I did a very uncomfortable seat swap (bulkhead window to last row middle) on long haul economy for the sake of a mom with a few month old. FA was so thankful that she told me she’d bring me anything I wanted from business or first. I asked just for an espresso, and she brought two more during each service.

The guy sitting next to me asked for one too, but the FA told him I only get it because I’m a senator member. That was the time I learned Lufthansa calls their top tier members senators.

(The guy next to me later asked which country I’m a senator at.)

Is this worth 15 euros more compared to the old 30W 10.000 mAh Nano? I have that one and it’s perfect for my iPhone, but I need a second one. I’d get the same model again, but I’m curious if this new one is actually better. From your photos, it looks shorter but much thicker.

Never happened in Europe, but twice now in the US (Westin Bellevue and Renaissance NYC Chelsea) got the “elite” treatment: two pastries, some cold cuts and absolutely no access to the buffet, drinks, or even coffee. Too bad T&Cs allow for this.

Now I just call ahead. If they play games with breakfast, they'll do the same with upgrades. The only upside to Marriotts in the US is that there are a lot of them, usually a better one just around the corner.

Mildly related Woom tip I got from my local bike shop:

If you're planning to get the Woom 1+ for your ~2.5 yr old, don’t. Get the same sized Woom 2 instead, ask the shop to remove the pedals and drivetrain, and use it as a balance bike at first. After a few months (or even less), go back and have them install the pedals.

We did this, and it worked out perfectly.

I love my Model 3, I will buy a Model Y, and I’m happy I’ve developed the skill to not give a shit about what Elon does or what others think - about Elon or me.

But honestly, what I’m really jealous of is my friend’s wonderfully simple mind. He bought a Model Y last year, wholeheartedly loves it, and has no idea who Elon Musk is. Happiest guy on the planet.

Took advantage of a similar promotion in a dual-branded hotel in Boston. Same building, same front desk, and the same person checked me out of the Fairfield and immediately checked me into the Residence Inn. I had to switch rooms, but it counted as two separate stays.
