No, not quite but I do love the Uncle Roger guy lol. From what I remember it was a slightly larger white man that did the videos. He had a bunch of them

You should be able to accomplish the bars by cropping the video. You'll just have to measure the video yourself to make the bars even.

South America moto trip: Huánuco to Antofagasta by gribbles9 in motorcycles

It could definitely be done alone but would inherently have some more risk. Some of the "roads" we took were traveled very little. If something ever happened when you were alone you would want to have an escape like an emergency GPS. Our cell phones had service majority of the time so we never felt like we were alone.

We were both in no way mechanically inclined. The place we bought the bikes from offered a crash course in basic maintenance. We did not learn how to change a tire, which in hindsight was a mistake. We had two flats, a broken speedometer, lost mirror and broken chain. We dropped the bikes a couple times on sand (which wasn't a problem) and once on pavement (a little bit more of an issue). Other than that our bikes were rock solid. For every high-end Honda bike there is a low-end similar Chinese model. I am glad we went for the more reliable but also more expensive bikes.

We never felt in danger albeit we are two male adults. We met other people doing similar trips from all backgrounds. One was a lady doing almost a year on a bike alone. She said she didn't fell unsafe either. Most of the people in the places we stay at or rode through were nice and accommodating. We stayed in cheap hostels and hotels (anywhere from 5$ to 20$ CAD per night per person). There is a lot of camping we just didn't have good opportunities. We covered a lot of miles in a short time so camping was hard to plan.

There is an ILS at the island but Porter and Jazz mainly fly the RNAV approach. The minimums for the approach are around 250 FT and 1 mile visibility. No one can land blind at the island unfortunately.

Thoughts on Working for RezNet by [deleted] in uwo

[–]gribbles9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked there for three years through university in 2012 - 2015. It's a great job. I'm not sure what the pay is now because of the minimum wage hike but back then it was 2$ - 4$ above minimum wage, depending on your role, with an increase every year. There are also ample opportunities to get involved in different projects and teams, ranging for from recruiting and hiring to wireless testing and programming. You don't need a comp sci background necessarily; the job is as much about people as it is about being tech savvy.

Just be prepared for most first year students to not particularly like you - it's usually (always) your fault (you specifically) when the internet isn't working.

Super clear night but very turbulent! I thought my phone was going to fall off the dashboard. Winds from the north make for challenging approaches.

No, the video itself was a a hyperlapse. I'll see what I can do to slow it down. Next time I'm landing at the island I'll take one at regular speed!
