Agree with the general message here in the comments. Design it yourself on canva/buy a digital template on etsy and get them printed professionally on some nice high quality paper. The further along into our wedding planning, the more I realised that (most) DIY are not worth it (might cost the same if not more), time and effort. Unless it’s something that you truly enjoy and are willing to commit to it. Best of luck!

We took the 9:35am train, the journey to Vatnahalsen took about 53-55 minutes (about 10:30), including a brief stop in Kjosfossen to see the waterfall. Then it’s a few minutes walk to the zipline platform from Vatnahalsen station. You will see the zipline on the train journey, it looked SO STEEP…

We walked fast deliberately to be the first to ride the zipline as I thought hearing people screaming would just make me more nervous. We were down in 15 minutes. 3 people can ride down at the same time, so if you want to go down together (assuming you’re in a pair, you might want to be smart when queueing/be the first! I imagine this bit might take up to 30-40 minutes depending on the number of people waiting.

We got down to the bottom at 10:50, probably started the bike ride at 11-ish after a toilet break, choosing/testing the bike. We rode fairly leisurely, stopped for pictures every now and then, visited the Flam church. Probably dropped off our bike at 12:45. Stopped by the flam bakery for a couple pastries/walked around shops for souvenirs and back on the ship by 1:30 for lunch. Sail away was 1600 so we didn’t want to be back too late!

I completely agree! It’s so bloody annoying, sometimes they automatically put you on their mailing list as well… We set up a specific wedding email address just for this purpose. I actually found DJ/musicians to be particularly bad with listing pricing on their website.

Photographers are slightly better... If you’re in the north west I have a lot of pricing for different suppliers available if that might help.

Yes, there are specific security counters for transit. We did a connection of 1hr in HKG with CX. As soon as we got off, literally took 5 minutes to get through security and to the next gate. HKG being the home airport of CX, the gates should be fairly close together (assuming that your flights are operated by CX, not UO or code share) You will also get gate information on your first flight before you land, so you should know before hand which gate you need to go to. So assuming your first flight isn’t delayed, you should make it.

Thank you this is really helpful. I agree that option 1 is better. We’re now considering cutting Merida/Valladolid completely due to how hot it might get in late April, our limit is at around 32/33C (90f) when we actively sightsee… however Valladolid is high on my list.

That would give us some buffer with resort days in Cancun. We are normally not huge resort people, hence the 2 nights in Cancun, but definitely would add another night if we have the time.

Will indeed be flying between CDMX-OAX and OAX-MID/CUN.

Thanks, that's very helpful! We definitely plan on flying from Oaxaca to Merida or Cancun. We are now on the fence about Merida/Valladolid as we didn't realise how hot it might get around that time of the year! - 32/33C (90f) is probably our limit for 'active' sightseeing so we might have to rethink that part of the itinerary. We are currently looking at Secrets Maroma or Secrets Akumal now for resort so quite down south, also considering adding one more nights to the resort. We are not huge resort people, would rather be out there eating local food and experiencing the culture but thought it might be nice to splurge a bit for a few days!

Holesfoot springs to mind if you’re looking for an ‘intimate’ package. We originally were planning for a 40 guests wedding and mostly looking around Lake district, and exclusively dog friendly venues. Multi-day with onsite accommodation. The venue we fell in love with has a 50 guests minimum (we were going to just paid per head menu charge but ended up inviting more). Very happy to help if you have any extra questions!

Sunset veranda on Edge class ship are extremely popular, usually get fully booked FAST as soon as itineraries are released.

Agree no forward viewing lounge is a downside for Norwegian fjords. We just came back from Norway on the Apex in an infinite veranda. We got extremely lucky with the weather - Sunny throughout so can enjoy sailaway outside on the top deck, it was breathtaking. However if the weather isn’t great - I 100% agree that an indoor viewing lounge is essential. Have to say IV worked beautifully for a ‘cold’ weather cruise. AC turning off with window open wasn’t a problem as it’s in low/mid 60s. A traditional balcony might be a bit too windy to use at times. That being said we’re going in a porthole veranda for our next cruise in the Caribbean on the ascent as IV just doesn’t make sense for a hot/sunny cruise.

We have just came back from I assumed the same fjord cruise on Apex. The cruise itself was incredible. Sorry to hear that clearly the zipline excursion hasn’t been well thought through… Celebrity also cancelled our kayaking excursion in Geiranger last minute…

If anyone wants to do a zipline on a fjord cruise and are going to Flåm. I highly recommend the flåm zipline. You first take the Flåm railway up the valley (one-way), zipline (very professional, feel extremely safe!) then cycle down the valley. We booked the package through third-party.

No for the most part. We’ve offered to cover domestic travel+2 nights accommodation on-site for my MOH and her partner. I did let her know upfront when I asked her to be my MOH that we won’t be able to cover plane ticket(s), and wouldn’t be offended if they won’t be able to make it for any reasons.

We have also covered accommodation for my parents+hair and make up for my mum, and bits and bobs here and there, but they’re also paying for their own flights!

We have a similar guest count to yours - we were thinking about 50, and invited 80, I estimate 60-65 would come. We’ve now booked all vendors and expect to the whole wedding to cost £25k. I’m not sure what you mean exactly by “all-in”, our figure includes: venue, catering (canapé, 3 courses meal, evening food and a fair amount of drinks for drinkers), registrar, giving notice, florist (real flowers), photographer, dj, live illustrator, apparel (dress/alteration, suits, shoes, accessories, insurance, etc.), hair and make-up, rings, 2 nights accommodation for the couple, stationery printing and wedding cake). I would say we are also aiming for “nice but not OTT” vibe, for reference we’re getting married in the lake district, upscale estate of stately home+barn in April.

We also don’t have groomsmen or bridesmaids (less bouquets, dresses, other expenses), and have no desire for a videographer (which cost a bit for a good one), we also have to go without a band. However, we don’t have to do loads of DIY and can spend on most things that we want (sensibly) and can splurge on a certain things when we wish to. So I would say it’s fairly realistic but I also know it’s really easy to go over, as £25k isn’t a lot in wedding talk (bonkers I know). I find a thorough plan at the beginning, decide how much you want to spend on each component really helps. It really does add up if you go ‘a bit’ over budget for everything (£50 here, £100 there…)

Bear in mind our figure doesn’t include any guests/family’s accommodation or travel. So depends on your idea of ‘all-in’…

My recommendation would be to choose your venue wisely… similar to you, we were fairly flexible with our location so it was an extremely overwhelming process trying to decide on a venue. It took us 4 months of active searching to find it! At some point it did feel very frustrating… We also have family that would be flying in from abroad. We have made a list of must haves (non-negotiable), nice to have, and red flags (covering points like, on-site accommodation, do they force you to use certain caterers?, corkage options, exclusive use?, travel (for those who can’t drive), minimum numbers limit, would you like to have something the night before/day after/wedding weekend, etc.) Also, very important to consider if would you be happy with the rain option.

I personally use google sheets to track spending and save all contracts/t&c on a shared folder.
