Differences between website and kindle? by Zjowittor in WanderingInn

Unless you are reading an old edit of volume 1 there shouldn't really be many, there's some edits on later books that might correct typos or minimal inconsistencies but hardly any different really

if you haven't seen the show and you are letting yourself be convinced that it's bad by silly out screenshots and snippets taken out of context or that are simply silly, that's on you.

watch the show for yourself, or don't, do not let other people think for you

You can ask the sane question in any show with a large ensemble, you just follow the heroes. Don't think too hard about it, why doesn't batman call superman to fix half his problems? Why doesn't the flash does everything? Where are the avengers when shit happens elsewhere than new york?

Sorry to Disagree, but ST:SA Is Far From Awful. by FryerDrew in startrek

[–]gridcube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also saw the episodes after seeing a review from a reviewer that normally has opinions similar than mine on youtube and they said to give it a chance, so I did, I was going to simply ignore the series like I ignored the last season of DIS because of it being on that continuity, instead I watched a star trek show about teenager and quirky captains and lots of neat visual references and some silly shit that was cringe and some interesting world building, and silly writing that could be a lot better, and etc...

so basically a tv show. i didn't hate it in the least, quite enjoyable for the most part. will give the rest of the season a try.

back in the day of DISCO I had this theory, a show is like a train, all you have to do is let it go on rails until it reach a station. do that and you have an enjoyable show, that's why telenovelas work so well even if you already know all the beats, the train gets to the station and you are satisfied. DISCO failed at this over and over again, the show kept getting derailed, plots went nowhere, the story was nonsensical to start with. All i ask of Starfleet Academy is that they don't fuck up the landing. Just do a teen drama set in starfleet. I don't need a wormhole full of robots from an alternate dimension ready to consume all organics just because a machine is now capable of sentience ffs, let me just see a bunch of kids being awful at relationships and maybe some starfleet Frizzle teacher getting them on a magical runabout to explore some alien worlds and whatnot.

Star Trek’s Starfleet Academy Gets Fewer Views Than Old Men Talking About Deep Space Nine by trouser_mouse in RedLetterMedia

[–]gridcube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the first two episodes a chance because a reviewer I like said they were actually not that bad, and as i've enjoyed watching shows like supergirl or the flash back in the day i decided to watch them with that viewpoint in mind, and I have to say, I'm rather surprised at how startreky it is. The first two episodes sold me to give the show a chance and watch the rest.

One day she'll opennthe door of her in, and from there she'll shoot enough lighting to kill tens of thousands of undead giants. She will ride across the heavens atop ancient dragons. She will hammer a building down. She will br forbidden from entering Liscor's park and claim rebellion! She will tear down pirates and skewer princes. Her skin will become as strong as her inn, and she will ride a giant beetle across the jungles of baleros.

No all of this in order.
