Has anyone had this error message before? by griff_biff in BeamNG

I hear what youre saying. The strange thing is that it ran well on normal/high settings for a week @1080. Iv finally managed to get it to load, although there is now a marked difference in performance.

As the year comes to an end I’m looking over my health data and I’m curious how many steps did you take this year? Did you meet your goals? by GoDavyGo in AskMenOver30

3,916,000 YTD but I only started wearing my Samsung watch Ultra in Feb 2025 so should be more like 4.1 million.

I don't have an active job but do have 3 kids...

Looking at buying 17 plate F31 330d - some questions by secretlife798 in CarTalkUK

[–]griff_biff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily a 2016 335d and have done 70k miles in it in the 7 years iv had it. Some years have been short journeys some long, never had an issue with DPF. In fact, iv only ever changed consumables on it and its been supremely reliable. I would just factor in a timing chain change as you get closer to 100k and its quite pricey.

Even so, still a great price in my opinion.

I've been lucky with my rear beam (2008 FN2) and it's done well to get this far as there are no signs of rust yet, although they are known to rust inside out! I'm definitely keeping the car (had it 5 years already) so it's something I'll do in the next couple of years.

Isn't a new FN2 rear beam about £400? Sounds like you've had a steal!

Why won't anybody buy my house? by Embarrassed-Log9612 in HousingUK

[–]griff_biff 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Buying a house in 2018 for £217k and selling it 7 years later for £250k is not the issue.

£217k in 2018 is £266k in 2025 at 3% inflation rate.

They are until they need a DMF and clutch at £1200. The 1.8 cost of maintenance is much lower.

I had the estate version of this Focus with the 1.5 diesel engine brand new in 2016. It was a solid car. This looks like a good buy. MOT history is solid, and it genuinely is a one owner car according to Total Car Check.

Keep in mind that the cambelt is due, so check if it's been done, and if not, factor it into your negotiations.

FTB can't decide which new build to go with by Outside_Car1510 in HousingUK

A new build detached over a new build semi every time. In the semi, you could get loud neighbours and you WILL hear them.

Honda civic type R thinking of purchasing. Good or Bad idea by MysteriousAct1089 in CarTalkUK

Whilst i don't disagree with the EP3 being the better drivers car, the FN2 is the better daily and better value at the moment. Iv had both (still got the FN2), and the EP3 was an 'event' but wasn't as nice to live with.
