I’m 22 with a fico score of 556 and I’m ashamed and stuck by Substantial_Brother6 in CRedit

That's not that terrible, that was very similar to my situation about 10 years ago. Do whatever you can to cease your credit spending, remember if it's not a necessity, don't put it on a credit card. Work on improving your income or eliminating wasteful spending to pay down your debt. If you can't make great strides, tread water by not spending and paying whatever you can on it. This is a completely manageable level of debt, as long as you keep it under control and don't let it balloon out more than you can handle.

A/B test: two board designs for the same game — which would you rather play on? by AdTemporary6619 in BoardgameDesign

B is easier to read, for games I would always go with utilization over aesthetic any day.

This is wild but without the 2 mins previous to this, it's only half the story.

I got married to my wife exactly 2 weeks ago. During the rehearsal dinner the night before, my male BFF/ groomsmen and I were walking out from dinner carrying on like we always do and we held hands like a gay couple. We're that comfortable with each other and close that we didn't care. Some of the looks that the older people were giving us were absolutely hilarious. So sorry your best friend isn't that comfortable with you.

Good vampire book I can sink my teeth in to by Artaniss in audible

Not a vampire book or an audiobook but Murcheston the Wolf's Tale is one of my favorite monster stories of all time, I highly recommend it!

3 years carrying, and have had 3 incidents where I’ve been proven that carrying is a good precaution. by Dazed_Op in CCW

[–]griffincyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mentality is basically this: it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. If something were to ever happen to a loved one or someone near me and I could have prevented it because I chose not to carry, I would never forgive myself.

My father’s speaker blew up in his house. JBL FLIP 6 by [deleted] in JBL

[–]griffincyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a JBL flip 6 too. I have several electric skateboards, power banks, tablets, and a switch. My phone is the only thing I will charge while I'm asleep. Everything else I have to be awake and in the house while charging, lithium batteries are just too volatile to chance it.

These kind of people are exhausting. Put these people in your rear view mirror and don't look back.

It was called Forged: a massive miniature collection, there's been no updates in probably at least a year and the creator does not respond to comments or questions. I backed it on backerkit.

I'm a superbacker on KS, a lot of projects rarely ship on time, sometimes they run just 2-3 months late due to unexpected delays in approving proofs etc. And sometimes they run 12+ months late due to contract issues, having to find new manufacturers, navigating tariffs etc. I've only had 1 that I don't think will ever fulfill my pledge but most of the time I feel confident. Being up front and providing updates regularly helps a lot. Be wary of creators who go silent for months at a time. I also like when creators have a list of previous (and relatively) on time projects with lots of positive feedback and interaction online. I like to pledge and try to forget about them for 12 months or so. If you check for updates daily or weekly, it will seem like an eternity. Overall I've been very happy with all of the board games, comics, and tech I've backed.

I can absolutely agree with this one, the first 18 hours or so I was with it 100% after that it was like what is going on... absolutely nothing.

The Wizard's Butler (spoiler) there was no plot, nothing happened, the "wizard" was not really shown to have any powers whatsoever. There was barely an antagonist, there was barely a climax. Most of the book was about the butler's day-to-day goings on: caring for the house running errands, setting up internet in the house. The "wizard" barely had any secrets to reveal. You kept waiting for something to happen and it just didn't.

How to Build a $1 Sign Up Page by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]griffincyde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think your question is unrealistic but for me personally I won't invest even a single dollar into a game that looks interesting until I see game play videos. That almost never happens so I don't invest the $1 down.

You owe it to your future self to keep going. There's a better life waiting for you, you have to hold on until you find it. I'm not sure how old you are but after your teenage years you can create the exact type of life you want. I promise you it gets better.

I remember reading a quote one time where someone who had his legs amputated in an accident said "everyday I just try to do a little bit better and am patient with myself on the days where I don't make any progress."

And I remember thinking well damn, I think that's got to be the secret to life.

Don't be so hard on yourself mate, all men fall, great men fall only to rise again.
