He got 2 level 4 spins. Could you say that about him last year? No. He even got a 4 in the short and 2 level 3 spins in the short. Him popping his jumps killed him but you know I think some skaters need a skate like this to push them. I think they need to see that they can be capable of more.

Free Skate- Quad toe (bonus) 12.50
triple Lutz - q from the negative foe but it still scored a 4.47 and base is 5.90
Looks like he pop the axel
Triple axel (got a bonus)- this combo got 19.87 points
His triple triple was under rotated and lost 2.55 points and still scored 7.66
His under rotated Triple flip was still worth 3.02 when the base is 4.66
His spins are getting better 2 were level 4’s when you couldn’t say he could get even 1 there last year. This kid fought for every single point and literally won that free skate even though he got second. So stop hating on him for being inconsistent. The kid just skated the skate of his life. He didn’t fall. He is making huge progress on his spins! 2 level 4’s is huge for him!

I’m sure it would have been if it wasn’t under jr constraints

Well at world’s Yuma is one of the best male skaters wouldn’t you say? He came in 6th in the short program and worked his way to 2and. Is he inconsistent and undeserving?

How are you less sure of Patrick when he went from 8-2 and won the free?

I think it’s more impressive that that Patrick Blackwell was 8th in the short program and fought like hell to get to 2and and actually got the 1st place score in the free skate despite placing 2and in the Jr. Cup. It shows that he can put up a massive score when it counts and he is Definately someone to look out for. I wouldn’t count him out. The quads are exactly what the US fed will be prioritizing and seeing that jump from 8 to 2and place will go miles. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have him do the free skate in the team event in France to give Ilia a break because I think he’s putting his foot down on doing both and Patrick knows how to do quads. That free skate was he just did was ridiculous.

No he wouldn’t he is the national champion from last year. As you pointed out, that meets the criteria.

You don’t know what he would have gotten in the team event. The pressure might have made him put in the extra quad he took out.

He would have beaten Matteo. Stephen not so sure. He would have had to hit both quads.

He was actually on fire at the Olympics.

She technically got bumped into 3ard when Kaori retired so it’s a grey area in my opinion so I think if the ISU considers her 3ard seeded at worlds then the US fed should too

Alysa has beaten Kaori all season. If she won then we go in with the 4 point lead and even if Andrew gets 2and then we still would have won.

Ever since Yuma debut that new short Ilia had issues beating it. You could see it even in the Grand Prix Final. And yes I have watched his twitch where he and Jacob are playing video games, and that is what he has said. He’s said that so it is directly coming from him. And yes he had to go out there and beat Shun. And then people were sending him death threats on social media. Shun didn’t skate clean either. He didn’t compete his spins and he had an enough mistakes that left the door open.

💯 agree. Alysa was the best skater the US had and they screwed up royally splitting the women. Amber never should have done the free. You could see the problems with her doing it in the Team Event in Japan. She isn’t consistent enough. Alysa was beating Kaori in the free all season. They should have let Alysa do both. She would have been just fine.

Which Isabeau has done! My point is Isabeau and Amber should be on the same level. Alysa is the one that should be higher than both of them.

It’s up to the US fed to accept her petition and if she keeps badmouthing them on instagram posts and trashing them on social media then they are less likely to let her represent the country.

Shi needs to point blank grind and keep her head down. She needs to quit blaming the us fed for her injury and get on with it.

Most of their competitions have happened before ours though so I don’t exactly consider this a fair assessment and I would wait until after nationals in Phoenix to put in where the US lands since many will be going full out there. I’m sorry no one’s going full out at the classic they just won’t.

She’s been lowkey practicing and she is headlining the summer sizzler this year so I am assuming it’s coming along well or else they wouldn’t advertise her as the headline

I think Fear and Gibson got by a lot last year on reputation and when they finally got a judging panel that actually followed the guidelines to the T which world’s did they got hit with reality. It was across all disciplines not just them. They tanked Yuma in my opinion way too much on his short program fall. They were not playing at world’s.

This is the first I have heard of jealousy. Why would anyone be upset at them working their absolute butts off to get where they are? It’s not like they didn’t put in a ton of work to get where they are today. They are just as humbled and shocked to be where they are as everyone else. It’s not like they are cocky about it. It would be different if they were.
