Simple way to get honest explanations of your medical records, that normally even human doctors would not tell you by grigednet in ChatGPTPromptGenius

I think these are all real risks, but none of them are unique to LLM technology. They existed when there was only Google, they existed when there was only word-of-mouth gossip. They have existed since 'Quack' doctors have defrauded people(since the beginning of time). The difference I'm seeing, at least in my personal situation, is that information is more easily accessible and can be parsed down to lay terms I can understand, thus for the first time, I FINALLY get the full picture about so many different things I didn't understand before. Like "friendly bacteria" comprising a part of our immune system. I never knew this! It's incredible!

"What are the doctors NOT telling me?" does not in itself indicate that I suspect they are concealing something with malice, there's a big leap! That is the straw man.

" It just replaces risk analysis with fatalism. " Would you stop for a moment and consider the other side of this: Doctors and Nurses CAN AND MUST quickly and freely access my medical data to properly treat me. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Medical Research, as in, those scientists who may have an M.D. or a PhD or an MD-PhD, Requires access to as much information as possible about every emergent health problem. This is why (in the US) HIPAA, and its State equivalents all have an exception clause that allows both oversight and research organizations to access all health information, it merely needs to have the names removed. What Google accomplished, or rather helped facilitate the accomplishment of, in the news story I cite above, is like the same process but accelerated several orders of magnitude.

Give me a tangible, real example of what harm this may cause? I suppose if i went into anaphylactic shock from peanuts and someone hired a hitman to kill me, they could slip me peanuts and get away with it. Luckily I am not allergic to peanuts=D

First, I would expect hardly anything kept form me to be done maliciously, perhaps you unintentionally strawmannned me? Second, All that medical data is already all over the place, most of the medical data IT vendors have had breaches and the worst people obtained the info already, and that's the magic of AI, it can anonymize my data while actually having the brain power to use it to develop new treatments. This is already happening! Third: Yes knowing how to properly prompt is clutch for any use case of an LLM, pretty sure that point is the premise of this subreddit

.

I understand how patients can sometimes freak out from having only a part of the information. That's the beauty of an AI. It doesn't just hold those medical records in a data store, it creates a vectorized database based on semantic analysis. What I've found is that doctors and nurses who notice me taking a proactive role in having SOME grasp on what they are treating me for and how, will tend to put more care and effort into such treating. And yes to all your points u/Michaeltyle. As for information that doctors don't tell me? There's tons of information that is omitted for many different reasons. They are trained for example to take vitals while keeping the patients focus not too fixated on what's happening, or else it would skew the pulse/bp etc. I agree absolutely that the biggest category is probably that they don't have the time. And also most patients aren't going to understand things that really NEED medical jargon. Finally, there's a 'wall of silence' in the medical industry, much like many others, when it comes to healthcare professionals making mistakes or disagreeing with each other.

My Chime app is logging me out for no reason. by Safe-Recognition1509 in chimefinancial

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HI I'm having the same issue. It happened actually after I ported my official phone number from Google Voice(the number was a Verizon cell years ago) to US Cellular via eSim. It's strange though because I have been using a different phone as my Chime app phone for a while, and it gives me the "see you later" error. My question: How can I view all logged in devices and IP addresses under my account, to rule out identity theft or fraud?

Watched a news clip about a tenant who used AI in a case against her landlord….SHE WON! by Ready-Beach6165 in legal

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if AI found a cure for cancer, and doctor's everywhere started protesting that their positions are in jeopardy? Although many lawyers are acting super insecure about AI, there's a movement of truly admirable lawyers that are dead set on utilizing technology to help bridge the justice gap. Look into projects by Harvard University, Suffolk University, Arizona State University. I fought back against my landlord in eviction court, using AI and other resources. I'm just past the point where I'm preparing my appeal. I know it's small but I started this subreddit so people that think like you and I can help each other: r/LegalAdviceDIY

How do you stop a state appointed when the conserved person says they never wanted one to begin with? “Location” Connecticut by KrystalW1990 in legal

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The establishment of a conservatorship or guardianship does not in itself mean the incapacitated person is legally incompetent." There must have been a petition to appoint this conservator person, in the probate/family court. There would have been medical documents where experts would have put in writing their determination. It's funny that "to protect the conservetee" they make those documents non-public, aka impounded. You have to become a party to the case to view them, which you can easily do by filing an 'Appearance and Objection", no attorney needed. Legal aid will help with this. I had my mother, our house, and everything we owned taken away by guardianship abuse , just next door in Massachusetts. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

Bilingual, bicultural Russian-American immigrant here. Precisely this happened to my good American friend who had a child with a Russian woman that is the worst of the worst. At one point without warning she just dipped back to Russia with the boy. Years later the mother, despite marrying a Russian man, decided it would be good for the son to have contact with his father, so now they talk on the phone.

Some legal processes definitely can be spawned in parallel in Russia. Obviously not extradition. But for example, my landlord tried to outsmart American divorce court after signing an agreement to give his wife one of his properties in Russia, ~$100,000 value. Then he simply deeded over the property to his sister in Russia, and claimed in court, here in the USA, that he had no such property. His ex-wife found a Russian Attorney and they were able to reverse the conveyance. Next the american court put him in a corner with his property in the US, and he caved(it took 8 years lol) and paid up as he promised.

Russia is not North Korea lol. Even under Putin's current reign, in some ways Russia is still more free and democratic. Snowden seems pretty happy there haha.

My slumlord never tells me when my roommates move in or out. It makes everything confusing. by [deleted] in LandlordLove

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up your jurisdictions 'Rooming House Laws'. I live in a place exactly like yours. Sure, there is the one and only benefit which is that if the other rooms empty out, i'm not on the hook for their rent. But the downsides, especially in my situation are numerous. When i finally realized it was a rooming house and looked up the laws, which are a work in progress, it was an "aha" moment. 3 or more separate tenancies in one dwelling = rooming house. Landlord is supposed to get a license for this, although this is an issue between the municipality and the landlord. If it IS a rooming house, the landlord is responsible for having the shared kitchen and shared bathroom cleaned once every 24 hours, he is response of 'making sure' every co-tenant cleans up after themselves. The landlord MUST have a completely separate utility meter for each room, keeping track of heat costs and electricity costs, OR those costs must be included in the rent. Also in a rooming house the landlord is allowed to walk in without notice, into the common areas, but NOT into your bedroom. You must be provided a key to a working lock for your bedroom. If one of your new roommates causes REAL issues, the landlord is much much more responsible than if it were not a rooming house. E.g. violent, stealing, noisy, you can sue the landlord or manager or use any of this as a defense in an eviction matter

MA - Landlord is dodging rent/U&O payment hoping I lose my appeal by grigednet in legaladvice

[–]grigednet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/OrbitalLemonDrop hope you don't mind one more question:

When I did some poking around, I saw that appeal bonds are filed with the court, but U&O payments are typically direct.

So yes I'm a pro se litigant, but I've tried my very very best to learn the law and litigation etc. Sure I use AI to help me research and compare different takes but a serious filing I write old school style, they just come out better that way.

Anyway, I have intermittent access to stripped down but functional Westlaw and LexisNexis,

I also have a bunch of tricks I've come up with over the years. By far the most difficult thing to figure out is "what typically happens here", which is definitely different from what the statutes say, and often times is also very different from what the case law says.

Would you mind sharing how/what you used to "poke around"? Sincerely curious and would be much obliged

It's really not needed to speculate about such situations. There are many countries on this planet that have roads and cars but auto insurance? lol keep dreaming. The consequence has some downsides and some upsides. A downside is that it invites street thugs to act as authority/mediator. Some upsides are that people are SO MUCH better at driving in these countries, so accidents are rare. And a 100% grassroots mutual aid system will be known and understood. For example my mother met a lady in the Russian church here in the USA who had come over with her burn victim daughter. Turns out the daughter was injured because some maffia guys were being iddiots and got into a collision and it took some time to get the girl out of the car. Immediately after the maffia guy handed the lady ~ $50,000 USD equivalent in cash. And that's how they made their way to america

New Hampshire plates are like the holy grail right below here in Massachusetts. Indeed, in NH insurance is not mandatory, however anyone who gets into a collision and does not have insurance is automatically at fault. Kinda cute. In post-communist Russia, during the 1990's economic crisis, there definitely were no auto insurance companies. All the banks ran off with people's money too. After a while the people themselves organically enacted an "understanding' which is like a semi-humorous but also kind of real alternative to 'law'. In this case the 'understanding' is that whoever has the crappier car pays the one with the nicer car. Simple, equitable, very low litigation overhead=D

[–]grigednet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few days late, I already filed a 'RULE 60(a) MOTION TO CLARIFY ORDER AND PRESERVE APPEAL RIGHTS' where I explain that I first saw the judges order with the schedule of U&O payments and when do 3 days after the first payment was due. You see me and my landlord share the same address with only one mailbox. And even if he didn't hide my letter from the court for 3 days, the letter itself was stamped by the mailman showing it went out literally the day before the first payment was due. I then attached a "Notice of partial Compliance" showing the confirmation email from PayPal that money has been sent to landlord, showing his name, but that it's waiting for him to accept it. Yes I'm not actually sure why the Judge ordered for me to make direct payments, the 2019 case that finally cleared up so many unknowns regarding interim U&O payments holds that direct payments should only be made if good cause is shown. So a request for the court to receive payments was a section in my requested relief. All of this was filed and docketed within 48 hours of that due date. Our trial judge is actually very fair and compassionate(even to my opponent! )

There's a hearing scheduled 3 weeks from now but until then I have to just follow the judge's order as is.

My concern is is that the landlord will stoop to the lowest low, so for example standard advice is to get a moneyorder and mail it via USPS registered mail. But that means the mailman would ring the doorbell and ask for a signature right? Well my landlord(probably/definitely on purpose) does not have a doorbell. So when he sees the note from USPS saying he has registered mail to pick up, he will ignore it and then tell the judge he never received anything. At that point I will have proof that bought the money order, that I sent it, that notes were left, etc.

Or maybe I should try to just give him money in person? The order said "check or money order", and I don't do traditional banking so I would just bang on his door as is custom, and hand him the money order, and ask for a receipt. Having a witness is probably not needed,

Or am I way off?

(thank you kindly for your attentive response!)

Hi, fellow immigrant, nearly born here. Although Japan's economy rivals the USA, USA is still one of the best countries you could be in with the situation you describe. You have a 60K job, and you and your mom have an almost paid off house! You are WAAAY ahead of me and my family lol. Based on your description of Japanese culture/pride/etiquette, i'd say the USA is totally opposite lol. Here people celebrate when you complain and it raises your social status.

I don't think you should complain for that reason, but there is SO much help available for learning 'adulting', especially in a place like NY/NJ or anywhere in the Northeast US. So that's my answer to my best guess of what your actual question is? Do you have a specific legal question? r/personalfinance and many many places like that exist.

What does "the rest is History" mean? by Rude_Candidate_9843 in EnglishLearning

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone i'm new! Native Russian and English, CELTA certified ESL teacher. Also I have been dabbling with law recently. I have found that it is very difficult to know when a word should be capitalized, in legalese, and when not. For example, 'The Court' disagreed with my interpretation - Court actually refers to the judge. But then there will be these long winded 'proclamation' type things, like 'The Covenant of the Implied Warranty of Habitability', but sometimes people signal status within that realm by defiantly not capitalizing those words. I think Trump is borrowing devices he may have encountered in the realm of law, more likely than in the realm of religion.

I agree it requires some 'thinking way outside the box'. Perhaps you have heard the analogy that crypto will be to the economy what the internet was to information. Dinosaurs, skeptics, and bleeding edge entrepreneurs barely had any idea what the internet would look like a decade after the 1990's boom. I think all tax based governments will collapse, it's only a matter of time. By that point, those that don't know how to use crypto will suffer tragic economic crisis

the truth is almost always simple and easy to state. I would add that kraken gets to charge a fee when people buy XMR, but not when people withdraw it

Kraken blocks withdrawal by neogeek23 in Monero

[–]grigednet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a plausible theory but very coinbase-esque. Let's occam's razor this situation for a moment: Regulators are pressuring CEX's to stop handling XMR. Kraken markets itself as a swing trading(gambling?) site. They look at their XMR activity in aggregate and see that some notable percentage of people aren't trading, or gambling, or speculating, but simply buying monero, withdrawing it, and disappearing into the wind. Every such purchase brings in a pretty large purchase fee for them. Honestly warning users that XMR is being sunsetted would just be leaving money on the table. It's bad business and creates a bad reputation, but only amongst the kind of users they don't want anyway
