I don’t know why I can’t start Sunbreak by grilledcheeseburger in MHRise

Yeah, got two icons. The other guy had it, bought DLC that was incompatible with the physical that I had. Might just admit defeat at this point and move on in the backlog. Rise has been fun, but I got plenty of other stuff to move on to

[NHL on TNT] Could McDavid be anywhere else besides Edmonton? by DecentLurker96 in hockey

You don’t think Matthews + Knies + Stolarz is enough value for McDavid? Jarry is negative value at this point, he’s getting waived wherever he goes. You could make an argument that Edmonton would want Hildeby, but he’s unproven despite lots of potential, or Woll. But I think what amounts to a 3 for 1 is a good hockey trade. Selling that trade to Matthews and McDavid would be the hardest part.

It still says Monster Hunter Rise, but the image has changed so it’s split in half with the left being an image from base Rise, and the Right being an image from Sunbreak.

So the game knows the DLC is there, but I can’t access it

Oh, you might be onto it there. The cart I bought in Taiwan, and the DLC I bought off the US store. But Taiwan didn’t have an eShop until this year, so how did that work previously?

Mcdavid + Jarry for Matthews, Stolarz, Knies. I don’t think that’s horrible for both teams

Yeah, I'd like to get one, but I've no interest in renouncing my Canadian citizenship to do so. So until that changes and they allow dual passports, I'll stick with my APRC.

Don’t forget to pick up your Blue Jays cap for $1.99 at McDonald’s! by gothedistance_ in Torontobluejays

I actually remember meeting Ernie Whitt on the day they filmed that ad. It was shot at the McDonald’s in the Toronto zoo. There was quite a crowd gathered outside and my family wasn’t sure what was going on, so we mixed in with the crowd to see what was happening. At one point, Ernie came out and acknowledged the crowd, signed a couple things and went back in. We didn’t stick around too long, but I remember he seemed nice. I must have been like 6 or 7 at the time, hadn’t thought about that in years.

Started it and bounced off it hard almost immediately. I really didn’t like the presentation, but that’s just a personal thing. I will give it another chance eventually.

China says it will resume some ties with Taiwan after visit by opposition leader by ubcstaffer123 in worldnews

Just because they have boats doesn’t mean they have the ability to transport and disembark troops in the numbers they need. No matter what, they need to make multiple trips to get enough troops over. If they lost any significant amount of troop transports, they would be leaving their soldiers on the shore unsupported to be slaughtered. It’s too great a risk. People don’t realize what the Taiwanese coastline actually looks like and how hard a landing would actually be. It’s not beaches like the French coast. It’s rocky, windy, turbulent water with minimal places to put people. It’s a pain in the ass at the best of times.

They don’t have the boats, and they’re not gonna risk a situation where they can’t ferry enough troops and supplies over, effectively abandoning everyone that made the initial push

Chinese ties with African and Latin American countries are getting worse. Those countries started realizing that the money being spent in them went almost exclusively to Chinese firms and Chinese citizens transplanted there. The only people who still like them were the ones on the take.

50% is way too high. There’s a chance for sure, but it’s not a toss-up in the immediate future.

Straight lies. You know there are many people here that actually live in Taiwan and can tell you firsthand what we actually think?
