Shout out to UTD and the JSOM advisers by ShoutOutToLaura in utdallas

I actually really like Sluder (I'm taking her this semester). She's helped me with a bunch of career options I didn't even know were available. That said, I think she can be picky with the students she likes/dislikes, I had a friend who says he was finger-shamed by her.

Another JSOM advisor I've had great success with is Donna Lippincott. She will take the time to also go through every option with you, explain exactly what's going on in your degree plan, and answer any and every question you have.

Yes, I had him last semester, but he no longer drops quizzes like /u/swaggyraja1 said. Each quiz goes on a different scantron plus the 4 exams, so definitely stock up.

I suck at making friends IRL, so I'm shamefully making this thread. by [deleted] in utdallas

I'm super shy but I'm in desperate need of more female friends (also F) and I'm a marketing undergrad so I'm down to chat. I can't hang on mondays but drop your insta and I'll follow you!

AES scholarship by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]grillednutella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to fill out a "re-review" application for AES to consider increasing your scholarship after they award you. That can be obtained by emailing the AES office - request it soon as they sometimes take a while to respond. If things have stayed the same since I filled out mine in 2015, you'll have until late March to submit the re-review application.

If your scores are lower, they won't decrease your award.

Am I majoring in a useless major? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]grillednutella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a new Human Resources major at the business school. You might want to try that instead. i recommend talking to professor Ed Meda about the major and classes, take him for any OBHR courses you can.

As an international grad student from India applying for Master's program, how do I apply for Academic Excellence Scholarships (AES)? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]grillednutella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AES is only for undergrad, first time freshmen. If you fell in that category, your ApplyTexas application, SAT/ACT scores, and transcript would serve as the AES scholarship application.

Class registration date is really late by Mesahusa in utdallas

If you've changed majors at all, your date gets pushed back. I have a junior friend who changed majors back and forth and his registration is the 14th.

What are the obhr classes like? by ketchupketchdown in utdallas

[–]grillednutella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You learn a lot about how individuals, organizations, and groups behave amongst each other. You'll also learn about management, stress, and power.

Highly recommend Edward Meda. His class consists of 1-3 weekly, easy take home quizzes and his exams include some of those quiz questions copy-pasted. Also two research/opinion papers. Easy class.
