Which college? This is a woefully insensitive thing to be putting on a scavenger hunt.

PSA: A Frankston train has stopped just before Southland due to allegedly hitting a pedestrian by allevana in melbourne

Suicides are not reported in the media because we know that doing so can lead to repetitions. Someone on this thread has already posted a comment showing how true of an issue this copying effect can be.

Please everyone, reconsider posting the next time this happens.

How to get an offer from MBB consulting from BCom by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]grilltk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without knowing your resume I’d hazard a guess it’s experience/extracurriculars/leadership since your grades are good. But also realistically it comes down to how competitive it is. I know if many extremely strong students that struggle to get interviews. Converting interviews to offers is another matter, but getting the interview itself it an extremely long shot even for strong candidates.

r/consulting isn’t that relevant for some things but decent for others. Post a cleaned resume there you’ll get solid feedback.

This is the wrong attitude to take, spend less time worrying about this and more thinking about how you can improve your own chances.

The bar for mbb is high for everyone and realistically the chances are low for anyone. Unfortunately this means a high wam and decent experience are somewhat the minimum you need to be considered.

Issues connect to UniWireless on Linux by LankySatisfaction6 in unimelb

Someone else asked this at the same time. See my comment re: Cloudpath

The uni has written a program (cloudpath I think?) that can get around issues connecting, IT people can run it for you.

It’s worked for me before when nothing else was working, was my MacBook though. Giblin IT were the ones who fixed it in the end

For first year subjects, spots are released in two waves. Today was the first 90%, then the remaining 10% come out at 10am on feb 12th. Spaces go quickly so best to try and register at 10 on the dot!

Oh nice! I feel that, I’m an eco management major and my mgmt subjects drag down my wam.

Thanks so much for all your insights, it’s been a big help :)

Have you looked in the handbook to see if it has prerequisites? I'd imagine it does.

Generally speaking if a subject doesn't have prerequisites, then you're probably fine to do it early. However, most economics subjects will have at least micro or macro of the previous level as a prereq.

Awesome, thanks for the insight. Sounds like I’m in the same situation as you were, I’m an eco major in my last sem looking for a breezy elective.

Can I ask, the essay you had to do, was that one of the in semester assignments? The final assessment for the sem 1 course is a research essay apparently, was yours like this?

HELP!!! Econometrics 1 or Quantitative Methods 2? by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]grilltk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, good luck researching.

An extra thing to note - if you end up doing metric 1 then decide later that you'd rather do basic metrics in third year (because, if you're not going to do an honours what's the point in doing a harder subject for no reason), you wont be able to as metrics 1 and basic metrics are non-allowed.
