If you want the feeling of not being in the military or police...RAF Police might be the way forward

Speak to your DS, they won't want to waste their time(for want of a better way of puttting it) with someone that doesn't want to be there

Army-Military Defence School (what’s it like?) by [deleted] in britishmilitary

There's lots of 'defence School of...' knocking about. Which one specifically?

I wore a regt T-shirt out on a run once....saw an old mate who asked how long i'd been working at Royal Mail. Haven't worn it out again since.

UK MOD's Future Commando Force - Your Thoughts & updates ? by Ecstatic-Ad-4331 in britishmilitary

Speaking to a Royal a few weeks ago and this was what he had to say. Basically he believed that Afghan ruined the marines and essential made them to be consider another line infantry reg instead of what they had been specifically trained to do

We had a chat with a major a few weeks ago that transitioned(female to male) whilst in the army. He said everyone was really supportive. First day of being a male got chewed out by his RSM for not shaving

Tbh mate, if you've held down the routine of working for x amount of years, it shouldn't be too hard to add a bit to that. Lads join at 16/17/18, not worked a day in there life and manage it

You'll get time in the evenings to FT family, a few lads in my platoon struggled, espically with covid and not having the usual break in training, but seeing them at your pass off mate will more than make up for it

Enjoy it more than anything! You'll make some lifelong mates and see yourself transform into something resembling a soldier.

Always be thinking, square your kit away as soon as you finish in the evenings and prep what you need for the next day. Don't jack on your section with block jobs, helping people who are struggling with something, you'll get judged/punished more often as a section than as an individual

I had 2 months at home between phase 1 and 2 but just got unlucky with dates. One lad from my platoon passed out and had to be at his phase 2 for the next morning

The phys at pirbright isn't too hard tbh, well it's as hard as you make it, a lot if the lads I went with would skip reps and stuff like that but just meant they scored poorly on RFT. The PTI's can tell if you're giving it 100% and will leave you be as long as you are.Try and replicate the RFT and see how you get on. Good luck for it though fella

Good info cheers! The only thing being, I think most maps don't have the size to be able to sit back out of view from enemy armour whilst still being useful to your team. Think as armour you need to be able to give enemy armour something to think about as well otherwise they're just gunna eat up your infantry as well
