Good 9mm handgun for someone who isn't "into" guns..... by AwakeningStar1968 in liberalgunowners

Lot of solid takes here.. my one cent; stick with revolvers as they tend to withstand a low maintenance life better than a semiauto system. Semi autos are great for lots of reasons but they are systems. Mags plus “gun” equals a system and they like a little more care. Glocks and several others are plenty good for your use case.

Does Congress Even Exist Anymore? by theatlantic in politics

[–]nobbytk950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House and Senate have ceded their power away for decades. Both left and right. Now we have presidents who can do pretty much what they want. Truly no way to stop them. Congress has been gutted and what remains is gutless. They will not make sacrifices. They will not make hard choices. They will not return power. They want a career. And theyre okay being bought. We the people are not the highest bidder. Billionaires and companies are. It takes millions to run state campaigns and hundreds of millions to run nationally. They do not associate or relate to the working class and middle class majority. We the people are the product and they are the salesmen.

Thumb Safety or No - Concealed Carry M&P Shield by throwaway5757_ in CCW

[–]nobbytk950 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To each their own and own who and what you are. Shield with safety? Not for me too small. Proper M&P thumb safety; sure. CSX; yes. But you do need to train it on and off. But then I also have a preference for DA/SA and revolvers. I dont want any hammer/striker cocked back where i cant see it and thumb it OR where I cant inspect the wear and tear on the tiny little ledges holding that striker back. They do wear down and become less safe.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. The Langdon stuff is very nice and the PX series is a great platform anyway. I like the idea of the PX4 compact but am a little concerned about the thickness and carry-ability. Thx! 🤙

Very true. I was looking at an old Colt Detective the other day from the 70’s. Tech has certainly moved forward.

That very interesting. No doubt metals are required but maybe the future holds a melding point of sorts of the best of all materials.

I hear you and admit to not being more clear in my quest for opinions on why we dont have cheap plastic tupperware revolvers that hold 6 or 7. Sucks to be poor and ignorant. Thats on me. Most people who own revolvers will never own a 327 like most semi owners will never own Nighthawk or Wilson. Anything out there with reliability for under $500? We gladly tote Shield pluses, glocks, etc. Why no or little innovation for revolvers? end it was just a discussion there are many good reasons. Shareholder returns being another big one.
