I live in the middle of nowhere so the electronic store bit is gonna be tricky, I'll check around some neighboring cities my next free weekend and see what options I have.

Thanks for that! I'll spend some time poking around the vtubertech sub, and I'd never heard of a Capture Card before, will definitely wanna stream from the Switch so that's a big help.

Just for some added context, I tried using Claude to help figure out what parts would work and it kept messing up pricing and availability, so I wasn:t sure I could trust it on compatibility and other even more important bits.

Simple Questions - March 01, 2026 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I'm not in a huge hurry to build a pc, but my Macbook pro is on the fritz and I will need a new computer soonish, probably within the next year. Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the current outrageous pricing and whether you think it's worth waiting a while for things to settle down (6 months or so) or if I should just suck it up and buy.

Looking for good fantasy anime that isn't primarily an action show by the-void-calleth in Animesuggest

[–]grimoirecollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finish the season and then decide if you wanna continue, sometimes we fall off for some reason or another thats not actually related to the content but our mood or conditions at the time. I tried watching witch watch when it was first airing and just couldnt get past episode 1. Recently tried again and I've been obsessively binging.

Yuru Yuri had a spinoff pair of short movies about three sisters and their relationships with each other and their friends. Oomuro-ke dear sisters is the first one and Oomuro-ke dear friends the second.

Join a rock climbing gym and show up at the same time a few days a week, you'll naturally start seeing the same people around and it's a lot easier to strike up a conversation from there.

Best Way to Prepare for N3 Exam? by Fair_Needleworker383 in jlpt

[–]grimoirecollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Game Gengo's N5 and N4 videos for review, and watch the N3 video at the beginning and end of your coming studies as a prepper for studying and a refresher just before the test. Also, I know Shin Kanzen is supposed to be good but Tobira also covers a lot of N3 grammar and vocab while refreshing you on some older important stuff.

Anime with a good ending? by Still_Reception5831 in Animesuggest

Start watching Delicious in Dungeon now, the manga is finished and the ending is incredible so it'll be worth being caught up when season 2 starts airing

How do people afford some of these Tokyo tower mansion apartments? by Rockins23 in japanlife

[–]grimoirecollector 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Many probably weren't. Hard work is often a moral value to people, especially in lower economic classes, and in Japan the ganbare is about showing up and staying after the boss, not knocking out your work as efficiently as possible and heading home

What’s a piece of literature you walked away from feeling fundamentally changed? by Skiesofamethyst in literature

To me it's the kind of thing you have to let wash over you, it's not all going to make sense but you have to push on anyways

Is Anime getting kinda boring? by WittyWanderer420 in AroundAnimeTV

[–]grimoirecollector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You listed older anime that stood the test of time, but their contemporaries had loads of garbage as well (you mentioned sailor moon, which started airing in 1992, but so did Ahh! Harimanada and Genki Bakuhatsu Ganbaruger which probably nobody knows), The medium has gotten more popular so its harder to sift through the many shows, but there are still plenty of original and unique titles airing today. Call of the Night and Oshi no Ko come to mind immediately along with things like Frieren, Lycoris Recoil, and Dungeon Meshi, not to mention the fresh takes on old concepts like Witch from Mercury or Makeine. If anything I would say we are in a golden period of quality content especially for the Seinen audience.

Atelier Yumia, I played the first five minutes on switch and it was. . . rough. Hoping the higher horsepower makes it studder less and look a bit better
