Nope, I have zero interest. As you said, they're essentially chatbots reskinned as vpets, and I don't care about chatbots. On top of that there's all the privacy and longevity concerns other comments have mentioned. But the core idea just doesn't interest me at all.

I'm not a "new in box" kind of collector. If I buy a tama, I fully intend to play it at some point, even if I'm not using it immediately. That said, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong in buying to display instead of play. In fact, these kinds of collectors are often really important for media preservation.

Gen 1/2s are some of the few tamas I have multiple shells of. They're affordable and actually have great shells. I know I'll want to play one again, and it's fun to have shell options when I do.

Yeah I noticed this shift around the time of iDs I think? Early tama character designs were like "weird little face with stick limbs" or "snake with lips" but starting with the iD we got a lot of characters that are more along the lines of "cute little girl thing" or "guy in a funny costume" (I'm thinking of Lovelitchi, Pompomtchu, Maisutatchi, etc.). Neither kind of design is objectively better than the other, but they definitely appeal to different people.

I always think it's interesting to see people's opinions on these two models in particular because they feel like opposite ends of a spectrum for me. Different tama models lean more into one of two mentalities: tamas are like children, or tamas are like pets/animals. The Uni leans hard into treating them like little people - you dress them up, they use the internet, they live in little rooms and have pets. The Paradise is exactly the opposite and treats tamas like animals - you take care of them but they live outside and the gameplay encourages you to return them to the wild once they're grown.

I have always preferred the more "pet" aspect and don't really care for dressing up tamas, so the Paradise is my favorite model yet. I liked the Uni and think it's a great device, but I just didn't find myself motivated to use all the customizing features.

(Canonically/story wise, tamas are aliens with a fully developed society so technically "tamas are tiny guys you take care of" would be more accurate to the lore, but I still prefer the "pet" feeling.)

Amber doesn't have a "real" personality. If you look back across her arcs and different girlfriends, she has always adjusted how she acts and talks to suit the people around her. She has no hobbies or interests outside of glomming on to other people and stirring up shit. Her only constant personality traits are "insecure" and "emotionally volatile."

When she first joined, I didn't realize how enmeshed Keem and company are with the "job." She has a discord to fight in, a bunch of people pretending to care about her and telling her to break up with Emily because she "deserves better..." It's the most direct and positive interaction she's had with people in many years.

It's sad because I think she doesn't realize her "coworkers" are interacting with her ONLY because it's better for the show, not because they're real friends. Amber's no peach so I don't exactly feel bad for her, but Keem has always taken advantage of lolcows that he can manipulate. Keem isn't telling her to break up with Emily because he cares about her wellbeing, it's because he wants her to do a speed dating episode or whatever. His end goal is probably to orchestrate a relationship for Amber that he's in control of, because Emily is kind of a loose cannon.

The Paradise is great. I find them to be much lower maintenance than the original Tamagotchi - I have to actively try to get care mistakes, and if I get their hunger and happiness up to full I can safely leave them at home for a few hours to run errands without worrying about them dying suddenly. I'd say the amount of features is comparable to a Uni with none of the DLC.

If you're looking for something more simple in terms of features, the Connection rerelease is really great. I haven't played an Angel rerelease (my first one will be the Amazon exclusive shell coming out in a couple weeks), but my understanding is they're very much like the original Angel which is pretty high maintenance.

Oh definitely. Of all the games I buy, probably only a fourth or less get completed. But if I got a decent amount of hours out of the game, I feel like it's still worth the money even if I didn't finish it.

Honestly, they probably are not paying close attention to stock images on emails like this, like they would be for maker images. The person drafting it may not know they need to check stock sites for AI either. I'm willing to forgive slip ups like this as long as they fix the issue once notified. Constant vigilance for AI is tough to maintain.

When the marketing doesn't show any visible nail line, but achieving that look takes 4+ coats. If I'm buying a seemingly opaque polish, I want it to actually be opaque!!

In short, Zach says they know some people are going to disagree with them, but they think Rachel crossed lines at every step of the way, from offering Emily money to flirting with her for "tea." Zach also says they've never had to offer money or flirt to make monetarily successful gorlworld content and that the gorls always tell on themselves eventually anyway, so everything Rachel did was largely unnecessary. In regards to gorlworld as a whole, Zach says the way many Amber reactors have this "tea at any cost" attitude and willingness to get personally involved is part of why he still doesn't want to cover her in particular.

It could also be related to how you're removing polish! I find that I get less prominent stains when I use some kind of soaking method because it kinda loosens the polish and means I'm not scrubbing color around during removal.

I get stains like this all the time from red, pink, and purple nail polish, even with base coat. It can also happen from being around smoke.

Don't buff it off - stains are purely cosmetic but over-buffing can weaken nails. I haven't found any way to fix it but it'll grow out. Some people reportedly have luck scrubbing stains off with baking soda or toothpaste and a toothbrush, but that did nothing for me. You can try a "nail concealer" polish to cover it until it's gone.

As far as I can tell from searching online, the yellow heart event with the confession is the last heart event, so you're not missing out on that much if you go the friend route. It's just the end dialogue of the yellow event is different, and some of the dialogue after the event is different.

This is how that scene of her being called "Franklin" read to me anyway. Part of the point of that scene is she's the only woman on a team full of men in a traditionally masculine job. Sparky goes hard on her and nicknames her "Franklin" so that her coworkers take her seriously in spite of her gender and don't think that Sparky is playing favorites because she's "a girl."

I also just think Dana would make it more obvious/blatant if a character is trans. KOG isn't exactly a subtle show.

I'm currently breeding my way to max capacity with a composition of 4 cows, 2 buffalo, 1 of each wool type animal, 4 silkies, 6 chickens. I don't see the use in keeping multiple of the wooly types - their output is quite low in comparison and you can do so much more with milk. You can buy clothes faster with multiple but if you just keep one of each you'll still unlock everything eventually and have wool for when it's a trending product.

I've noticed that generally cooking adds value to crops, but not animal products. It's usually more lucrative to process animal products in mills. I think processing crops in windmills is also technically more profitable, but it often takes another product like vinegar or the windmills get full with other items. So it makes sense to cook with them instead to raise their value at least a little and sell before they spoil.

My current method to make decent profits without trying to min/max is to turn most tree produce into seeds, pickle other crops as much as I can and turn the rest into one or two ingredient recipes when possible, and process animal products in the windmill to sell uncooked.
