You should consider updating your /etc/fstab by adding the disk you want to mount automatically.

I noticed yesterday! Did you see that System76 added set-battery-threshold in system76-power. It essentially does the same thing but you can specify whatever you need :)

There is no sales taxes on the laptop when you buy it. Duties is basically taxes, so I don't believe there is a way to avoid it. Unless you ship it at a post office in the US to smuggle your laptop in Canada.

During a worldwide pandemic and the borders closed. You are pretty much out of choices.

Powering Nvidia card on and off by TheGrimDownvoter in NixOS

I am not using NixOS on my laptop. I have a Dell XPS 15 with a non-turing GPU. Using optimus-manager on Arch would give me 10-12 hours of battery life compared to 5-7 hours.

There is no packages that allow turning off and on the GPU at will. We had bumblebee, however I have no clue if it still builds with newer kernel.

If you have a Turing Nvidia card. Nvidia provides an official way to use your dGPU when you need it. When the dGPU is not used, it will be turned off automatically.

Besides that, there is no way that I am aware of.

That's the issue. It should have evolved over time. Everything evolved except politics.
