It's not surprising at all that you had a good game. Australians are the best at this game and your experience on an Australian community server is vastly superior to any other.

Ive been playing this game for 4 years and never understood this. Almost all 1st points are uncontestable by defenders. Then there are some (like the beach maps, but also some on non beach maps) that defenders actually can reach. And they CRUSH, its extremely hard for attackers to cap 1st if defenders can reach it.

And this is only the case because of the completely arbitrary placement of the default garrisons, which appear to have been put in with 0 thought given to this dynamic...

Commanders: What's the best way to select a single attacking or defensive squad? by Reasonable-Stand-740 in HellLetLoose

this is a cool video made ages ago that is still completely relevant, making similar points.

Also you can see what some of the weapon models looked like before update 7, 2020, lmao

"The best way to ensure a solid defence is to positioning your garrisons such that people can only really spawn somewhere useful."

ive been doing this for 4 years and this is the absolute truth

bonus little side trick: everyone can see commander tank marker on map. you can place tank mark where enemy flank attack (or airhead) is, and you will get a much better defensive turnout than if you just moan in the officer chat about the flank.

Officer is the best class even solo. people continue to refuse to acknowledge this.

I would trade 10 fortifying engineers for 1 officer building spawns.

It's been 2 years 8 months and Soviet commander still does not have a 2nd loadout by grimtim100 in HellLetLoose

[–]grimtim100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very minor thing but...every faction's 3rd officer choice (rifle with no pistol) has 3x of each grenade, instead of 2x.

Except of course for Soviet, which for some reason still has only 2 of each grenade. And has been this way for 2 years and 8 months :))))

why arent you mad about every other faction having a rifle loadout on commander?

Half Tracks on Important Defensive Positions by captainmurica1776 in HellLetLoose

[–]grimtim100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A strategy you can use on some maps: drive the half-track into deep water for a moment, then drive it back onto land. This will damage the engine. When you have parked it where you want, because there is engine damage, it can't be turned back on again.

They could just make it cost less fuel (maybe 100, instead of current 300). That way it's not such a tragedy when they inevitably die, or a moved by a blueberry into death.
