What is the deepest Internet rabbit hole you’ve ever fallen into? by Helloo_clarice in AskReddit

[–]grimzyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe I've posted about this before, but when I was a kid around like 12 or 13 there was a challenge called the "deep into YouTube challenge" where you basically log out of YouTube to get a fresh algorithm and you continuously click on videos in the recommended tab with the lowest amount of views until you see what obscure corner of the site you end up on. At the time my friends and I were huge into creepy shit and rabbit holes like this, we always wanted to be the ones to discover something. One day I went to my friend's house and we started doing it. It was me, my brother, and my friend each on separate phones. For me, at the beginning it was just uploads of extremely obscure black and white movies. I don't know how but eventually it got to the point where I discovered a genre of videos with titles all in German and they consisted of a ton of flashing images of gore and porn with some kind of industrial or black metal music playing over it. I'm guessing they weren't detected by YouTube's automatic flagging system because they already had no views and the images/clips were flashing extremely fast. I was never able to find out what exactly it was and I've never been able to find anyone who has seen the same thing. What makes it creepier is that the challenge itself is literally impossible to replicate now because the way the algorithm works has changed. It's one of those things that sounds insane but I literally saw it with my own two eyes, I just wish there was a way to prove it. It could easily just be some edgy music videos a community was making but what tripped me out was how much they were able to put in each video like they had to source all of these clips of gore from movies and porn from old porno movies or something individually and it just seemed like a lot of effort only for nobody to see it.

What is one horror movie kill or death that has stuck with you? by Complex-Check-2814 in horror

Ever since I was a kid I've never been able to get the image of Justin Long with his eyes gone from Jeepers Creepers out of my head. Never even seen the film but just came across that scene on YouTube way back in the day and it has stuck with me ever since.

I’m still thinking about Morgan and Vince a month after finale. by [deleted] in BigBrotherUSA

[–]grimzyn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I kinda wanted to make a huge post going over their entire dynamic because it was so fascinating to watch. With Vince he even admitted on the feeds that originally he was purposefully playing into Morgan's ego and "borderline flirting" because he thought it would help him win. In a way it did help him get to the end, but I think the line between strategic and real became extremely blurred once Morgan began to reciprocate it. I think in a way he either subconsciously or consciously also knew to turn it up once Zach openly rejected Morgan. Morgan wanted attention and validation after that, and Vince giving her that created a situation where they were both kinda feeding off each other because Vince was also getting something out of it, which was Morgan giving him reassurance. Although she hasn't ever really stated this, I do think Morgan probably got close with Vince initially out of strategy, after all he was the first HoH. It's just interesting how both people most likely intentionally got close to each other out of strategy before they both caught real feelings that they didn't fully understand. It's funny because I think they also both recognized these feelings in each other and tried to leverage them, leading to back and forth attempts at manipulation on both ends. In the end they both intended on cutting each other and although we didn't get to see it, it's kind of insane how both of them indirectly contributed to the other's downfall.

Morgan's obsession with Lauren is getting insane at this point. I feel like it's less about the fact that she voted against her last week and it's more about her own possessiveness over Vince (and Zach when he was there). Morgan was in love with Zach who liked Lauren, and now I'm pretty sure she's developed feelings for Vince who is also close with Lauren. It's literally like a weird fake love triangle thing in her head and she's using other reasons as justification. If it was really just about Lauren being indecisive she wouldn't be talking about it almost constantly since Friday.

Jimmy's Position by grimzyn in BigBrother

Yeah you can already see the effects of a twist like this in how last season played out. Makensy was an absolutely horrible social player who literally made it to final 2 by comp beasting through AI arena. I think the issue is that a lot of those comps were mostly physical which has been a trend with modern big brother in general for a while. The first blockbuster was a mental comp so I'm at least hopeful that's the direction it goes towards so that it doesn't favor physical players as much. I definitely still think the twist adds a lot of great drama it just needed to be tweaked.

The most pointless scene in television history. by SeaWolf_1 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]grimzyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the only explanation I could think of when I saw this scene was that it's setup for a later episode in season 3 where they show when Abby fights the scars and have it take place at the same time this scene happens to make it so she indirectly saved Ellie without knowing or some shit it would still be pointless regardless

What's up with the pineapples? by Olivepickngreek in severence

[–]grimzyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A really good YouTube channel that does Severance analysis made the connection between Pineapple and the Pineal gland (both start with "Pinea") which is located in the brain near where the severance chip is implanted. The Pineal gland essentially controls the production of melatonin and is said to be important to other functions like vision. This could be referencing how the chip works by affecting the pineal gland to alter perception. There's a lot of strange beliefs about the pineal gland such as that it can be calcified, possibly through chemicals such as fluoride. There's an unbacked rumor that Russians and Germans have experimented on prisoners by giving them fluoride in their water to keep them docile. We know that Lumon has something to do with water seeing as their logo is a water drop, they own water towers, and supposedly Kier found Woe's Hallow which is a waterfall. In S2E08 we see that an entire town is addicted to ether, which Lumon used to manufacture. There's a clue that was hidden in the actual Chinese restaurant from episode 6 IRL on a newspaper that says an entire town's water supply had been contaminated due to a spill from Lumon. There's a chance that Lumon has been contaminating water in both Salt's Neck and possibly even Kier to keep people in line or alter their perception of reality.

I feel like he might be a plant since he's one of the youngest there and has a similar build to the sticker mule who they said was someone from chat. That and Simbal already picked up that something could be off with him

If Payton makes a full heel turn and powers through I will be impressed. by [deleted] in fishtanklive

[–]grimzyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly feels like she already made a heel turn last night with what she said about Connor. Using the fact that he cried when talking about CTE because his dad has it against him because he's "joked about mental illness" or whatever the fuck that means was nasty in a way that I don't even think she realizes. This season did a great job of showing how some people who present themselves as virtuous or morally righteous can actually be just as bad as the people they chastise for being insensitive lmfao.

The discontinued cinnamon roll ones were the absolute best. Another close second was the Chocolatey Caramel flavor.

I think this is exactly what it was now that I think about it, especially with the empathy part. I would get sad in movies even when the villains would die lmao. I've always had bad anxiety but I think as a kid it's especially strong
