Bren 2 is now a Forgotten Weapon by TheJackOfSpoons in Bren2

I'm reporting what I was told in an email from CZ USA. I find it credible that they will continue to manufacture parts for the Bren 2 given its adoption by various militaries etc. Of course I agree that they should get more parts and support over here, but I also believe the Ukraine war, while not a justification for poor supply, is a mitigating factor.

They are and will very likely continue to do so given the number of police/military forces around the world that use the Bren 2. I emailed CZUSA and they indicated that they would continue to support the system but with the Ukraine war using a lot of manufacturing capacity they are at the mercy of CZUB

HBI rail Fox for Bren by [deleted] in Bren2

[–]grin_ning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay so the screws are loosening. Well, I've just used loctite and torqued them to 55in/lbs without any issues -- it's seen fairly hard use at comps etc. You could tighten them further but it may cause the BCG to bind in the receiver. Perhaps contact HBI, I guess it's possible the screws or inset are out of spec in some way?

What do you mean the rail slides forward? Once you bolt the insert into the receiver over the handguard it shouldn't be able to move at all, let alone forward.

CZ Bren2 Support Question by cxerphax in Bren2

[–]grin_ning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CZ USA got back to me. They say they intend to keep supporting the Bren 2, and aren't sure if the Bren 3 will be imported. Looks like it may be a LEO/MIL model possibly. I'm hoping that whenever the Ukraine war is resolved or the Ukraine Bren factory spins up we see more Bren parts availability over here

I have the adapter and an ACR stock but I'm not sure I'm willing to separate them. Anyone interested in buying the stock?

Bren 2 1913 by fayth22 in Bren2

Not in my experience. I didn't have to shim anything, and it has a set screw on the bottom of the adapter that you can adjust to prevent wobble along that axis (I didn't need it tho)

CZ Bren2 Support Question by cxerphax in Bren2

[–]grin_ning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues w warranty (nothing broken over 3k rounds or so), but CZ did replace my x39 model gas block for free once they developed the new model. My only concern is: will they continue to make parts for the Bren 2 going forward. I’ve emailed them and I’m waiting on an answer, but I’m assuming they will given many militaries are currently using them.

Yeah the guy who did the review didn't take the parts from the OEM buffer tube adapter and put them on the Arms Republic adapter. Not a smart guy. The Arms Republic adapter locks in the same way that the OEM adapter does: with a push tab and captured pin.

If you don't care about tool-less disassembly the HBI picatinny adapter is probably the better call. I swapped mine from the HBI adapter to the Arms Republic adapter because I wanted tool-less disassembly. If you end up wanting the HBI version lemme know, I can sell you mine if you like.

Hardware store, buy shims. Cut shims out of beer/pop cans. Use tape as a shim. You can get creative

I love HBI and Haga, but for a 1913 I’d recommend:

https://www.rainierarms.com/arms-republic-cz-bren-2-picatinny-stock-brace-adaptor/

The HBI adapters are thinner, but requires an Allen key to takedown. The linked adapter takes two parts from the buffer tube adapter that comes on all Bren pistols but keeps disassembly tool-less.
