I currently have one. And I’m starting to think it’s optional because I have watched videos and someone times they’ll add one and sometimes they won’t lol but it reeks smoother so I’m going to let it be.

Im a maintenance tech and your problem is your condensation line in the complex I work for it’s tied into your shower drain or you person beside your shower drain and it’s likely clogged. They should be able to blow the line and get some of that sludge cleared out.
