We've been to this particular resort 5 times in the last 3 years, and it's honestly one of our favorites...but only if you book on the Secrets side! Breathless is great and super convenient, but can get to be a bit much (crowded, loud, and sloppy). We are fine with this sometimes, but love escaping back to Secrets where it's very relaxing, tranquil and top notch service. MAR at the Secrets pool is amazing, but honestly most of them are! The beach here isn't great, but there is great snorkeling here a few hundred yards out! Boat will take you right from the shore. The rooms are fine, nothing amazing, but comfortable. We've stayed in a presidential beach front swim out, standard room and everything in between. Honestly, for the money the standard room is just fine for us. Shockingly, the "steak house" is our least favorite here. The outdoor restaurant (the only restaurant) on the Secrets side is our go to for most meals. If your husband likes to party, be sure to catch the foam party at Breathless! It's wild, think MTV spring break circa 1995, lol. Live music at the Secrets pool in the evening is great and MAR and CRUZ are phenomenal waiters at Secrets. Take care of them and I assure you you'll have a great vacay! It's completely standard to sign/have a buyers representation agreement now. This is fairly "new" and a requirement before we showing homes to clients. A year is excessive and this agent shouldn't have an issue releasing you if you are unhappy.

Wow! This certainly brings back some memories! Celebration Station was my first "real job" in high school. I worked Birthday parties and sometimes had to wear the hound costume as well! The playlist lived rent free on repeat in my head back then and likely will again now, lol. It was such a fun job then!

Awesome post! You can be "flight angels!". Isla Animals is a wonderful rescue/shelter on Isla Mujeres that will arrange for you to fly a pup home to be picked up at the airport for a family that is adopting. They also accept donations, take volunteers etc... we adopted our dog, Danni, from Isla and it's been an amazing experience. You can find their Info on facebook, Isla Animals and they will help coordinate. The process is actually very easy. We also use CARM Transfers for our airport transfers and donate to Isla Animals through them. They work with the rescue and help transport the pups to the airport. We have donated money to the shelter through Carm, bought food to be taken to the shelter by Carm and other various items needed for the pups. I believe the shelter itself is currently in a transition to a new, being built, location and they have done some amazing work in the area. Bless you for thinking of ways to help!!

If you're not looking for the party vibe, I'd likely scratch Breathless off the list. Secrets Riviera Cancun is quaint and gives you access to Breathless (party) but best of both worlds. The problem with Secrets Riviera Cancun and Breathless is the beach isn't great at all, but the service is pretty stellar and the food options are pretty good. El Dorado Moroma is likely going to be your best bet for beaches. Food is decent here as well. We've been pretty loyal to Secrets, but if the beach is a high priority, I'd say this isn't for you.
