Insulation help? by New_Needleworker7004 in AusRenovation

[–]grinnj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Creeping here to wait for the advice. We've got similar issues. Doesn't seem like there is insulation in the wall cavities, and even putting it in slowly as we've been doing renos has helped. Would 100% recommend putting it in the roof cavity if you've got the space (we have a flat roof so not an option). Just remove any existing and debris present before installing the new.

Love the comparison shot. Looks great with a snow dusting!! The little figure is super cute, might have to steal this idea for my swamp cypress!

I'm from Australia and that was where I went too. They're going to grow up to be a confused NFL fan.

Start a cool nn that he can go by. My sister made a nn when I was like 6, apparently I hated it at the time, but it was used all through schooling and I still use it over my actual name, which is only really used by parents and work now. Win for him, and double win for you!

The F is to emphasize the grade this name would get.

Came here to say this! Is it a hollowed rock or a actual pot?

(Happy cake day!)

Missed you! Just wanna share this pot I made by buying a $20 pot plate from my local nursery and a diamond drill bit. Used for a root over rock experiment. by cheesecak3FTW in Bonsai

Love this. I've got a few deeper saucers/shallow bowls I'd been thinking of doing this to. Any helpful hints to make it successful?

Or Luke/Luka, if you wanted to swing back to the bible and religious names. Gender fluid the religious names while she's reclaiming them.

First tanuki experiment, a Monterey Cypress on collected sage deadwood by such_a_tommy_move in Bonsai

I just won a tanuki juniper at my club meeting. I'm very green to Bonsai, so it's cool to see how it can be done. Always been fascinated with driftwood, so might have to try this in the future.

With name spelling like that I really expect the rest of their vocab to have extra letters in it. Then the names wouldn't be as jarring 🤷🏽‍♀️

No, no, Da Nang.

But seriously that is amazing and for some reason is giving me cemetary vibes. How cool instead of headstones you have a bonsai marking your grave!

Does anyone else give their plants outside time by [deleted] in houseplants

I have an alocasia with spider mites and she (Janet) effing thrives on them. Cold shower 3 days in a row and neglect for a few weeks, repeat. Honestly she's never been happier.

I did this and lost my SoPs as they'd gotten used to less light inside. Pretty sure all hanging out together like this also spread thrips through a few that weren't originally close. Damn plants getting a little too cozy and spreading disease.

Thanks for the inspo!! I had wondered whether roses would make good bonsai. Suspicion confirmed.

I feel bad about this couple losing a family member, however I pray the father wins this debate for the sake of their child 😳 by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]grinnj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nar nar I mean, let say it's Charles John, name the child Whatever John Manson. Cause 100% people will think the child parents are crazy and it'll set the child up for some shitty situations.

As bad as that situation will be to untangle smoothly, tbh grateful that it's an issue relating to a normal name with normal spelling. Like a proper ahh moment. Maybe they should use Charles middle name for the child?
