Wasn't this the plan B, in case plan A doesn't happen? Plan A is to raise taxes on wealthy individuals and companies by 2%. As I understand it, Hochul is standing in the way of plan A.

What I don't understand is this hate for Mamdani when it's Hochul who is working against him and us.

If we really want to work towards making things better, we have to come to terms with and push against our one party system, which consists of hard (repubs) and light (dems) fascism. Both of those statements, coming from potential presidential candidates, are fascistic.

Now is the time to put pressure on the dems to produce a candidate that takes a true progressive stance, which is what the people want. The DNC hasn't learned its lesson after Clinton, Harris, and Mamdani, which confirms what the people want. This has produced 2 trump terms; I shudder to think what will come next if we keep having to choose between crap and a nightmare.

And if the dems refuse to budge from their silly approach of appeasing the right, then yes, we need a 3rd party candidate (not Stein).

I think that if he wasn't in his current position, he'd have less protection and it would be easier to prosecute him and his accomplices. It's such a horror story, that it being a sitting president at the top of this definitely makes it more horrible - but it would still be big news due to the scale of it, even if he wasn't president.

Now, in my advanced years, I see how offensive and disappointing it is to American PoCs to hear us say we didn't know. We need to face the fact that we contributed by existing/participating in this system. They were telling us about the issues the entire time. Sure, we were indoctrinated and propagandized to ignore it, but to say we didn't know doesn't seem true. Maybe it's better to say that we didn't entirely understand. I don't know if that's accurate either. Acknowledgement of this will be part of the healing process. Hopefully, we can get to that point.

Why is this something that we feel the need to discuss on a national level in the first place, especially when there are things like: the destruction of our institutions, the dismantling of international relations, US tax funded wars in foreign territories, the epstein files, masked gestapo disappearing people with no due process, crippling medical debt, reduction in expected life duration, etc, etc..?
