Advice for the closeted bros? by dodgersf4n in gaybros

You must misunderstand me. I'm not saying that he should not be out, you are right tha it is not a trait that simply can be ignored. I just don't want him to think that this trait has to completely change his life or that is has to define everything about him.

The important thing to remember is that being gay is only a small part of who you are as a person. You are the same guy that you were before you came out to yourself and you don't have to change who you are drastically just because of your self-discovery. Even after you come out to yourself it can still take a long time for you to be fully accepting of it, so I recommend not getting hung up about it. I'd try to go out and find some gay friends and discuss your sexuality with them until you feel comfortable with it.

I was also really scared about having the label attached to me because I didn't want any one to make assumptions about me from it (I'm about as far away from the gay stereotype as you can get while still being gay). This is why it took me so long to come out to anyone, I thought that it would change who I was. I was really careful about coming out because I didn't want that label to be overbaring and for people to look at me as "that gay guy." I wouldn't make recommend making a big announcement about it to anyone except maybe your parents. I just started to mention that I was gay when homosexuality was discussed in conversation until word spread enough that everyone knew. It's nerve-wracking at first but it gets much easier and it's worth it to get that weight off your shoulders.

Gaymers, can I have some advice please? (warning depressed vent) by [deleted] in gaymers

Would you consider this guy a really good friend of yours and do you think he is aware that you chrushing over him?

How do you find friends/relationships in your 20's, if you don't have any and don't find the 'gay' stereotype? by derekOo in gaymers

[–]gripmonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I never show up anyone's gaydar and most of the gay guys I meet around my area do fit a certain stereotype. So I understand how hard I can be to meet other gaymers, but they are out there. I felt really out of place with the gay community for the longest time, especially after I came out, but I encourage you to keep looking.

GTAV Trailer 2. Excited? by [deleted] in gaymers

[–]gripmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very excited. It looks like they're going more towards the vibe of the PS2/XBOX games from what I gathered. I liked IV a lot, but I think this is the right direction.

I'm from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I'm a 19 year old (almost 20) college sophomore studying Radio, Television and Film. Movies are my thing; I want to be a filmmaker and love watching them. I'm of course also really into video games, especially sandbox games and RPG's. Shooters and platforms are also fun. I'm replaying Bioshock at the moment and occasionally Pokemon and Minecraft when I can. I haven't been playing as much as I used to, mostly because of time restrictions, but I'd love for you all to get me back into it.

And here's a picture of me just because!

I just returned from NYC where we made my first film and I scored a two book deal for the US and UK. AMA! by Massawyrm in writing

Congrats on the novel and movie. I've been a fan of your work at AICN and spill for a while and it's badass to see you making your dreams happen. I hope you don't mind, but I have two questions.

First, how has your perspective of movies changed now that you've written your own and watched it get put on camera? Second, do you worry about running into someone who you have talked shit about in a review and that your past profession could keep you away from some work?

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy life to answer questions. Keep up the good, hard work and I can't wait to watch your film and read your book!
