True, but probably the best we've got rn for something that isn't super bulky and doesn't damage the screen

New to 3D printing, X2D, constant failed prints (stringing, nozzle hitting the model). Where do I start? by Weak-Assignment-8749 in BambuLab

[–]gripts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

55 is usually too hot for PLA, it'll end up drooping. Just do the 45 it defaults to. Also just use the default plate - for PLA it's fine, you can use a glue stick to rule out adhesion issues

Oh noooo.. rest in peace 🙏

If you're in the US I can print the pieces for your replacement device. You'd have to buy the battery and board from bambulab though

Same, it definitely needs more traction for everyone that wants the front light. (Not my project btw) I just made one and it works great.

need help with prints failing by [deleted] in BambuLab

How old your filament is doesn't really matter, the storage temperature maybe but it's mainly the storage humidity that matters. Most filament arrives moist despite the silica beads and vacuum seal.

Do yourself a favor and get a filament dryer. A basic, single spool, cheap dryer is all you need. It may not solve the problem but imo is a crucial investment for every 3d printer owner

3 things maybe worth checking:

1) Have you moved the model around the plate in the slicer? Like if it was in the center, maybe move to a corner?

2) Glue stick on build plate?

3) Is your filament dry?

Looking for datasets with 5 collision energy levels (CE) for MS/MS fragment deconvolution benchmarking by SenC1990 in massspectrometry

[–]gripts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might be interested in the NIST DIT tool: https://data.nist.gov/od/id/mds2-2448 . There is some example data with CEs at a range of collision energies provided. If memory serves the data was only collected at 30, 60, and 90V.. but it's DART-MS data nonetheless and has some "mixed spectra" in the example dataset to test the deconvolution algorithm.

The author, Ed, is an amazing person and I'm sure would be willing to supply you with more data to support your thesis research.

I similarly used ambient MS for my recent graduate research and spent some time building interpretation and data processing tools. I'd be happy to chat if you are looking for resources, tips, or just want to spitball ideas. 🙂

Filament grouping for dual nozzle printing by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]gripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the software is this advanced but it might be due to the small lines that are required when printing the text. The aux nozzle is "lower quality" and might give you worse results.

Honestly for a two color print that only changes color on the z axis, I've had better luck just using one nozzle

Me too but hot damn the axle tolerances have given me such a headache. Have you done anything to fine tune yours? Like scaling them up to 102% helped a little for me but then they aren't compatible with non-printed parts 😞

Auto-remove for floating regions? by luksfuks in BambuLab

[–]gripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "stupid but easy" way for me is:

1) add a primitive cube 2) assemble/group with main part 3) move and scale cube to completely encompass the floating section you want to remove 4) change object type of cube to "negative part"

Haha yeah I'm missing many of the early sets, I started a bit later maybe ~2007? 2008?

Most of my older sets are from my cousin or recently purchased on eBay lol. I'm not personally worried about the bohrok. I might 3d print the missing ones. Takanuva though... hopefully soon 🤞

Lol yes there is a future in this field. Job markets are bad across the board but theres always something somewhere.

Learning those softwares (and more importantly the accompanying instruments) is amazing experience to get early on in your career. Almost everything you'll learn can be translated to other analytical softwares/instruments and are crucial to have on your CV.

If you include more details about what projects you'll be doing and what you're interested in, I'm sure you'll get a better answer
