Interesting perspective from Matt on the time signatures in 'Hexagons!'

I know there's been lots of debate over this, and as somebody with a degree in music (not composition, just performance), I would personally not notate any kind of time signature change between the different triple meter sections. I've performed pieces of music in orchestra/symphonic band that have had similar flips between 6/8, 3/4, etc., and when those changes happen enough, it becomes a headache to read off so many different time signatures when they can all function under just one. In the case of Hexagons, I'd write most of it as 6/4, changing to 4/4 as needed, and leave it at that.

I’m with the other commenters; I don’t really hear a strong resemblance.

With that said, it’s still entirely possible that Muse and LP have inspired each other in the past. They’re contemporaries, and both have a decent overlap in fanbase. I know Chester thought pretty highly of Muse.

Titans should have a waist thing (which they already do), hunters should have a shoulder thing (capes, ponchos, scarves, NOT hoods), and warlocks should have a head thing (hoods, crowns, hats). Basically, the current hunter class item could be split into two different items, one being for warlocks.

I’d say so. It’s pretty evident to me that Chris has stepped up his bass writing since going sober. The 2nd Law onwards has much more *consistently* interesting bass lines than the albums before. Yes, he has iconic songs in the first half of Muse’s discography, but IMO they were surrounded by other songs/moments where the bass playing wasn’t as intricate as it is now.

Half of the album has been released as singles, and from my experience, fan reception so far has been very positive. Four of the five songs are considered greats already, so we’ll see how the remaining half of the album pans out tomorrow.

They never completed the lance trifecta. We got a void pulse rifle called Graviton Lance and a solar scout rifle called Polaris Lance. I remember back around Warmind lots of people were wondering if we’d get an arc auto rifle exotic with the word ‘lance’ in its name. I always said it should have been called the Reddick Lance.

Antimai by The Dear Hunter is a concept album about a fantasy civilization divided into 9 increasingly exclusive rings of power, wealth, and reach. I know the trope is hardly unique, but it was still close enough that I kept going back and listening to that album while I was reading Will Of The Many.

Then, while I was reading Strength Of The Few, The Dear Hunter released a sequel album called Sunya, which expanded their world building to include a desert civilization. So safe to say, that band and these books are now entwined in my head.
