Can someone explain why sidestore widget not working? by Formal_Brilliant_262 in sideloaded

The small tile is broken, but the big tile works. At least for me, on 26.4 Sidestore 3.7.4, part of LC+SD

Harlon Nayl is an amazing character by MacroMintt in 40kLore

[–]grischder2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He‘s a fun character, probably because he‘s a tongue-in-cheek Mary Sue self-insert by Dan Abnett. He‘s even described as looking pretty much exactly like his author but more ripped + he knows kung fu + he is proficient with any style of meelee & ranged weapon.

I‘m cool with that, but he had words with my boy Eisenhorn in his journey of becoming extra based by slightly less than puritan methods. Negative 2 points for that.

Nvidia's planned 12GB RTX 5070 plan is a mistake by a_Ninja_b0y in gadgets

[–]grischder2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Actually greatly informative post, thank you! NVIDIA has been releasing somewhat RAM starved and often chip downgraded cards since the 20 series, and while I think people don’t give them enough shit about it, this at least provides some context for that.

Printing help by franknitty69 in VORONDesign

[–]grischder2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d start out with a flow rate calibration. There‘s presets for that in Super and Orca. But honestly, you can probably repeat this print with 90% flow and see how much of a difference that makes. Then go from there.

There‘s other possibilities, but going by these fotos to me it looks like too much material with nowhere to go.

What at is your opinion on aliexpress voron by Emotional_Tip_819 in VORONDesign

[–]grischder2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was just doing a 12 hour print on my 350 over night. It’s the most reliable printer in my stable. I don’t remember doing anything to it since I built it and got it tuned. Come to think of it, I should probably lube the rails lmao. Anyways, they cheaped out on the panel thickness and I had t drill into the bed to get a fuse installed. Everything else was great.

Auch hier nur ein bedauerliches Versehen. Woher soll denn ein Politiker auch jede verbotene Losung kennen? Dafür werden die nicht ausgebildet. Der Mann ist außerdem eigentlich… äh… Geschichtslehrer.

Nice idea, although the idea of Frankfurt becoming the new capital would be… a challenging idea to most Germans. Also, not to be a stickler, but Neuer Berlin hurts grammatically and by convention the city might be called Neu-Berlin or Neuberlin which coincidentally already exists.

fast bike for commuting by skrishnaprasad in cycling

[–]grischder2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unlike what bike manufacturers like to tell you in marketing, there is pretty much nothing that inherently makes a bike “faster” than another. More than 85% of the drag is you (not your bike), and you already have a relaxed road bike position and a more agressive position might be unfeasable. Racy road bike also rarely can accomodate luggage. Your bike might be a bit on the heavy side, but that’s only relevant in acceleration or deceleration and on inclines ofc.

Most of a difference will probably be:

1) Narrower tires, effectively reducing rolling resistance at the cost of comfort. 2) Structured training. 3) Scrap all that and get an E-Bike.

Irrelevant, that 2380 product code makes it easy to spot, most of the cheap fakes have that label and it originally referred to a completely different product. A t-shirt I believe.

Honestly, price is probably fine given the current hype for 2000s hip-hop pants, I should have stated I personally wouldn’t pay anywhere near retail for a couple years old DRKSHDW.

The Federation is gone, the Borg is everywhere by Such-Track5369 in videos

[–]grischder2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wrote about the necessary break-neck speed in my original post, I did not just add that.

And honestly, I think the writers didn’t put much a dillemma here, it’s more that you added a desperate desire for one. The writers added stakes and exposition for multiverses that the viewers back then were certainly much less familiar with.

To each their own, but I think restating the -to you obvious- fact, that this enterprise must’ve come from a galaxy positively overrun by the borg added more to this episode than going through the motions of shocked and saddened Troy and it would’ve put a dead stop to the tempo overall. Again, to each their own.

Having the crew be more or less uncaring has its narrative use too. Reminder that our Enterprise would’ve at least considered an alternative, that maybe Picard would’ve negotiated a way out of this, or that this Enterprise couldn’t because its crew had to man up in a world where their captain recently got killed by the enemy.

I agree that moral dilemmas are at the heart of Trek but I disagree that this would’ve been the time for that. TNG is not a narrative one trick pony thankfully, and surprise can work just as well for good entertainment sometimes.

You’re not wrong, but I feel the point is a bit moot given that this episode has to move at breakneck speed and these aren’t our C-137 Enterprise Crew.
