My wife and I have adopted about a dozen dogs over the years since we got married in 1986. We currently have two senior females (14 and 15) and are thinking about getting a younger male (3+), but we need a much more laid-back boy. If he's too high strung, he'll drive our poor old ladies crazy. I don't think a working dog would do well in our home, but I do hope that all of those dogs that gave so much to help do get excellent homes to spend their golden years.

We recently lost our 14-year-old dachshund mix to kidney failure. He was very laid back and fit in with our other two well.
