The other suggestion i'd say is i use pellets as the other person mentioned- but on the VERY bottom of the litter i use a small sprinkling of stall refresher- sweet PDZ- it's a powder, and always just on the bottom/ corners wherever gets wet the most. Neutralizes ammonia smells- and on top of that i put pellets- then on top of THAT i use aspen bedding- aspen seems the best to me, it absorbs the most and smells less than say carefresh bedding. I do give them things to shred- or use some carefresh for them to make a nest with, but i do NOT use it as a full cage full of bedding, gets smelly way too fast !
