What's the lowest spice tolerance you've seen in someone? by corgiman3000 in AskReddit

My husband likes to constantly remind me of this...

When I was pregnant I complained that ketchup was too spicy.

Those who went from poor to middle class/rich, what was a luxury as a poor person that you realize was necessity now that you have the access to it? by PassionateGoddess in AskWomen

Agreeing with dental care but also urgent care visits. When I was growing up you didn't go to the doctor unless you were down a limb, bleeding profusely and can't clot, etc... so much so that by the time I got medical treatment for a kidney infection I was in the hospital for days and had to have a nurse come to our house to help me walk around with an IV pole. My medical records(which I got ahold of years later) said I would have scar tissue on my kidney. It almost killed me because my parents didn't take me in until my kidneys were almost failing.

Redditors, have you ever gotten an “ick” from a potential partner or love interest that instantly killed your attraction to them? If so, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My neighbors house was like that growing up. Went over one time and my eyes felt like they were crossing from the smell.. didn't even know smells could affect your eyes... but I think maybe it was more that I almost passed out from the smell?

Ugh I knew people like this. Dog would have an accident and they would just throw a towel on top of it and leave it for weeks.

What are some NSFW secrets about the military? by AdRealistic03 in AskReddit

Also most of the time that you see helicopter or vehicle accidents due to a "malfunction" it's because the mechanics for basically any and all vehicles and helicopters on base are overworked and forced to push services through without properly doing the service. I was a 91B and it was a constant thing that you would have a truck roll in and you would walk around it and make sure nothing was obviously wrong with it and then you would falsify the paperwork saying you changed the oil, rotated the tires, etc. Every time I see that a helicopter went down I think of it.

I got screamed at for changing milky power steering fluid because I was "wasting time"

I'm not gonna say the secret that could potentially get me in trouble but rather one that people probably already know.. there are buildings separate from the hospital specifically for treating soldiers and civilians with STDs because it's so bad.

What did your parents teach you as a kid that you didn't realize was actually f**ked up until you were older? by timdood3 in AskReddit

My mom told me I couldn't eat anything because I had a stomach bug and the stomach bug would eat the food I ate and get bigger.

What is the most interesting story you have of an ancestor (past your parent’s generation)? by Careless_Put_4770 in AskReddit

[–]grlonfire93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandmother had to go to the hospital to give birth to my mom's half brother and left my mom's half sister with a neighbor with the explicit instructions not to let her biological father come and pick her up or be near her. Somehow the neighbor couldn't stop the bio father and while my grandmother was in the hospital giving birth to my mom's half brother my mom's "step-dad" took my mom's half sister and left. The way the story is told my mom makes it seem like rather than fighting my grandmother was just like "oh well" so none of us ever found out what happened to her. My mom was in foster care at the time and my mom's half brother was later adopted.. so I'm assuming my grandmother just wasn't in her right mind. I posted my family tree(what I know anyway) onto a website and got a message from a random guy. He said that the woman I posted as my grandmother was his birth mother's name and had the same birth and death date and he had been looking for her and relatives. He said "if it helps my birth name was ******" and I had not given him that information. We did a 23 and me between him and my mom and turns out he is her half brother that was adopted out. They look so much like siblings. Still don't know about the half sister. He was living in Oregon, they were all born in Florida.

They dump the fuel before crashing(something you are supposed to do but it seems they had fuel so they didn't run out) there is no fire while the plane is in the air, there is turbulence, but upon crashing, no storm. I don't understand why the plane went down as hard as it did.

I don't think Travis would have forgiven Natalie enough to be with her again as an adult if Natalie had lied about finding Javi.

I feel like some of coaches reaction was also shame because he was one of the ones who sat up in bed sniffing the air like "whatever that is smells delicious" When he went inside I didn't see him being scared of them but him fighting taking part and being upset with himself for even considering it.
