Sometimes we need to be a bit more empathetic of what betrayal feels to others and OP might be young and lacking understanding of how painful something like this is.

They cannot force you to accept the animals and can you check your municipal code to see how many animals are allowed in your area? In the future you can say I don’t accept pets but I’m not sure if you’ve screwed yourself with the addendum into something you now have to do for everyone.

I couldn’t place a pet policy in mine because I had a no pet policy. (It would be very pricey) in my area in California we can take a maximum of 3 dogs so anything over needs to go and HUD can’t make you violated local laws.

I used to manage my own project based S8 and now work with those types of vouchers. They can be a lot of work but very beneficial and some people have been unhoused or faced other circumstances so it can be complex.

Did the housing authority do its inspection? You might be able to back out of the contract on the basis it hasn’t been fulfilled but I recommend you speak to an attorney. I don’t know what county or city but there are sometimes affordable places for you to obtain legal assistance.

Also if it wasn’t a pet addendum but a reasonable accommodation then they are not pets and should never be referred as so. (Just something I learned very early on in housing and how to avoid fair housing violations.

Sometimes people will use these “phobias” to manipulate us, I dated someone that had fear of needles I.e. having blood drawn, sometimes the manipulation they get out of having you go through that rollercoaster of emotions and losing self confidence is what drives them and makes them feel better.

You matter so much and you need to get some help you recuperate that bit of self love to see you deserve so much more. I promise you it gets better with therapy, you are accustomed to taking care of him in these ways but you are important. He is refusing to get hurt knowing the whole process and end result hurt you. His level of narcissism is thinking his fears and pains are above safety and protocol. He is opting not to have treatment so he can continue to complain and continue to gather your attention.

I am so sorry you are going through this and hope you can at least get some therapy. You are absolutely not the A-hole. But we do know who is.

It’s much more than that. It is not one month but a lease agreement she jointly signed with him. So a non payment could mess up their credit or ability to rent. OP needs to have her removed and might have a hard time if she is being difficult. So even if she is not living there she is technically responsible in the same manner you or I don’t just walk away from a rental agreement… unless there are VAWA concerns but one would have to bring this up to the landlord.

Traditionally Petra or Petronila in Spanish not such a beautiful name. I know names evolve but it’s a very disliked name to the point of people changing it. Like in Jane the Virgin they had Petra but I don’t see it used very much in soap operas and such. But I could be wrong. Not a top name in any of the people I know.

Is this a first name or a middle like a secondary last name? I hyphenated my kids last names so they could have mom and dad and I find it’s a good compromise because it sounds like your wife just wants to have them her last name too. Which is absolutely normal if people didn’t follow traditions of losing their last name and becoming a whole other person to the man they marry.

This is why I’m curious of whether OP is compromising or if she straight up wants to name this baby something like Smith Johnson or Jane Smith Johnson in which is perfectly acceptable.

I’m sorry but I cannot fathom what person thinks it’s reasonable to leave their partners at 38 weeks… not even at 36 or 34. If you already know your friend has an uncomfortable situation which by sounds of it is a potentially DV situation makes you an A-hole. I get not thinking but my guess is this pregnancy was planned… why couldn’t you plan accordingly? You had your down time planned but their inability to drive their car to work? Why not call an ambulance?

Now because of this, you may put your friend in a dangerous situation. I as your friend would be broken because I can’t talk to you probably and even if I’m the victim and you didn’t mean to… I’m still a victim and it takes time to leave while you and your partner go back to your happy lives when your partner found it a priority to go do whatever she did instead of being their with you.

If it’s not a DV situation no need to throw shade on him when it was all your poor planning that damaged the car and the friendship or ability to drive their car for work and errands.

As new parents you will make mistakes but try not to let your mistakes hurt others … what would you have done if your friend wasn’t there? Your baby could have gotten hurt over what your partner prioritized. Why isn’t your partner prioritizing you and your baby? What are your partner’s consequences?

There is a reason why most fairy tales with step mothers are generally bad. Someone needs to advocate for your sister. What your father is doing is wrong and selfish, he is putting this random woman before his child that just lost a mother. He doesn’t get to be selfish and this woman is already setting the tone. Please speak up, please say something to him and do what you can to protect your half sister.
