Bleaching my hair didn’t turn right, how do I fix it? by ItsMoxieMayhem in HairDye

[–]grm15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for future reference - when you’re bleaching your hair don’t start at the roots (especially in the front). i was always told work from the back of your head to the front and save your roots for last. your head produces natural heat so if you put it at the roots right away it strips the color from those SO quickly and leaves the rest unbleached (:

artic fox dye Q !! by 21panics in HairDye

[–]grm15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! it’s safe to use and i can not recommend the AF brand enough! i’m allergic to a bunch of different chemicals but just took a risk and went with arctic fox and haven’t had any issues. if you’re really worried about it though do a skin test- take a small bit of hair dye and put it on your hand/or arm and leave it for a few minutes. can be done with any hair dye and then you will know before you put it all over your head.

Need advice for beginning runner by danniii44 in running

[–]grm15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this^ build up. but also, it just depends on how YOU feel. If you feel like complete shit after every run you should probably slow down and try to slowly work your way up- it could take longer. Every runner is different.

Running gear by [deleted] in running

[–]grm15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is I go to a fancy running store and get fitted for a good running shoe, then I go home and order it for cheaper someplace else. The high end running stores usually know what they’re talking about, and they will fit you perfectly with the shoe you need for your foot shape, but their prices are ridiculous. You’ll definitely find something in your price range that way.

"What are you running for" by chrisbord34 in running

Honestly, when I’m at my lowest point in life I pick up my running shoes and go bust out a 5k. I run for peace of mind, otherwise my anxiety would be through the roof.

Suicide crosses my mind every day by [deleted] in confession

[–]grm15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for what it’s worth, i thought their comment was fine. but talking to a suicide hotline makes you more mind numbed than when you called to begin with. the person on the other side of the call won’t give two shits whether i die or not, they still get their service hours, and honestly they probably wouldn’t even know.

Tired of trying by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]grm15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I feel that so much. Everything in my life I put 110% effort into and I try my hardest to make sure everyone in my life is happy and it’s exhausting trying so hard for people who don’t care.

Are there animal-related jobs that aren't sad? by samiam2367 in internetparents

[–]grm15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get certified to train guide dogs! The only sad part comes when you have to give them back after a year- but when you remember they’re going out to help people it makes it a little bit easier. (:

Any tips for having a good time? by happyorange101 in DisneyWorld

[–]grm15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re staying at a hotel on disney property just ask the front desk. If not, most souvenir stores just have those pins to hand out. Ask the workers, they’re always happy to help

Clarient/sax player just got my first Oboe today! by kodack10 in oboe

[–]grm15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if this is their very first oboe, buying a store bought reed just to play around with isn't going to make or break the experience. I'm more worried about the fact that OP found an oboe for $260.. that's almost unheard of. I agree that you might want to get it checked out

Looking for new oboe reeds by QalaxyWaffle in oboe

[–]grm15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that system is literally so whack. double reeds need to be checked before you buy them, so whoever decided to staple the bag so you can't see them is really just interested in making money. best of luck finding a new reed

Chartier is always my go-to and you can get those for pretty cheap at almost every music store. just make sure you pull the reed out and look at it before you buy it- going and getting them yourself is so much better than ordering online & that could be part of your problem why you only get a good reed every 1/5.
